Sooo, I recently found out my insurance will most likely cover my SRS in full, which is great, but it's through my dad's insurance and that only lasts until I'm 26 (I'll be 24 at the end of the year) Soo that gives me a much smaller window and much sooner than I had planned for. I had an option of two different surgeons under my insurance Dr. Meltzer and Satterwhite. I plan to do my own research on them but if anyone here knows, is familiar with or has had anything done by them, any info would be awesome. Thanks ^_^

The extension of benefits to children up to the age of 26 is one of the most popular features (along with the exclusion of "preexisting conditions") of the Obamacare. Many of the less popular mandates of the law were already scheduled to begin, but the regulations haven't been enforced. The Obamacare "Cadillac Tax" is scheduled to begin in 2018. That's intended to drive benefits coverage towards the mean for the insurance industry and impose an "excise tax" on plans that exceed the cost of the "norm". But, the whole law may be thrown into disarray by the Supreme Court.

I say all of that just to point out that the coverage you have this year may not be the same that you have next year, or the year after that. You might consider getting diagnosed with for a preexisting condition.

I had scalp advancement, type 3 forehead reconstruction, rhinoplasty with bone removal at the top of the bridge, and a cheek lift done by Dr. Meltzer.  I am very happy with the results, and  I had the best possible experience with him, and his staff.  I also received the best possible care at Greenbaum Surgery Center.

Dr Meltzer does a "two stage" SRS.   After you are healed from the initial operation, you go back for a final touch up and the process is completed.

Dr Meltzer tells me that many patients feel they don't need the second surgery, they're very happy with what they have after the first.

A longterm friend of mine, another old-timer, went to meltzer for a "touch up" in 2010. Us old-timers (like operated on 30 years ago) didn't have the benefit of modern techniques and so Meltzer and a few other surgeons now offer us a "retouch package." She seems delighted with his work, and from what she told me he was very professional indeed.

I went to a different surgeon in the UK for my "upgrade to Vag 2.0" so I can't comment directly beyond saying that he seems to be a little more expensive than some, but by the same token from what my friend told me he really knows his stuff so perhaps he is worth the premium rate.

Cool, it does seem like Meltzer is the more well known the other is much newer from what I understand. Still, all good things to know.
