The Bruce interview was a godsend; if you were ever worried about coming out and didn't know how to start the talk, just bring up Bruce and let the converstaion blossom from there.

So I came out to my sister today and the conversation could not have gone any better!!  She is the first one in my immediate family to know about my transition and she was 100% supportive of me.  It was a very nice feeling to finally be able to fully open up about all the things that have been swimming around in my head for all these years and she made me feel so accepted and loved.

Transition has taught me that there will be good days and there will be bad days.

Today was a good day.

Clueless

It's super great that you've got family who is supportive of you! Hoping for more good days for you.

Thanks guys!  She is the youngest of the bunch so I figured she would be accepting; she also has a lot of friends in the community so it was a fairly safe bet.  Still, it feels good knowing that my own blood accepts me so readily and it gives me hope for the conversations to come. I even sent my sister some pictures of me in the various cute outfits I wear and she told me that she didn't think I would have any trouble at all with passing. Talk about a huge confidence boost.  Can't wait for my avatar so I can show all you the real me!!

She did make me cry a little though; she told me that she thought I looked just like my mom and she then went on to tell me that she thinks that mom would be very proud of me for facing myself and accepting me for who I really am.  *tears*

One sister down, two to go!  Plus one father.....  Jury is out on how he will take the news; hopefully he takes it well, but I don't really care either way.  To quote one the best movies ever:  "Our parents, they want the bestest stuff for us. But right now they gotta do what's right for them, 'cause it's their time. Their time, up there. Down here it's our time."

Namaste.
