Rachel,

It usually has to happen and is greatly freeing. However, it is also terrifying. Try to stay positive. Try to stay grounded and breathe.

Remember, you are not alone. It does not always go well but it can be okay anyway. Try to write or talk about it when you get the chance. We will listen but it might be better if you have someone you can look in the face and physically hug. Is there someone who is safe and loves you unconditionally. It is also good to try coming out with someone like that as a practice.

I wish you luck, love and a smooth journey.

With love,

Joanna

Hugs, Rachel.

Trust me, the closet is not your friend. There is nothing like waking up in the morning realizing that you will spend the whole day as your total, complete, authentic self.

Embrace the adventure. It's bound to be one of the most amazing rides of your life.

I am listing to this thread now. It's scary going out in the world but after you have started it's a great relief because you are doing it. Let us know how we can help.

Hi Rachel ( I love the name Rachel),

It is scary but think about it. It was scary when you first rode a bike, drove a car or were intimate. Don't you enjoy it now? I am not saying after you come out you will enjoy it but the pain from hiding will go away and you will get to tell others who you are.

If you are dependent and living with your parents you may want to make plans just in case it does not go well. I know you are 26 but I do not know your living arrangements.

Good luck.
