hey guys! I'm a long way from phalloplasty due to the gross amount of money it costs but I was wondering if any of you have experience with Sava Perovic phalloplasty in Serbia

Dr. Sava Perovic has passed, so I'm not sure if there would be much input here from guys who went to him, but I think Dr. Rados Djinovic has taken over his practice.

I had read that somewhere, though his name is still their website so I thought it might've been more recognizable, but now that I think about it that might cause confusion thank you

Have you tried joining some Yahoo groups? They're fairly active and someone who's had lower surgery could give you some answers. I've been finding these groups super helpful!

I'm over in Belgrade right now recovering from my final surgery.

Dr Sava Perovic did indeed pass away though he hadn't practised surgery for a while before his passing. Dr Rados Djinovic is the chairman of the Sava Perovic foundation and was also recently elected the chairman of some European urogential thing which is a pretty big deal

Some have said he has poor bedside manners but I have not had that experience at all, I think you just need to know how to deal with different types of people. He actually is a really kind man with a great sense of humour and an awesome team working under him. The only downsides are that he is so busy he often runs late for his apponitmnenrs )but he always responds to my emails and text messages very quickly) and that they don't always tell you what to expect with your surgery, you really have to ask questions. I think that's just the culture of the people here though.

I should also note that in my three stages of surgery totally a near 20 hours I've not had one complication (touch wood, still healing stage 3!!!!). I'm not exactly the healthiest person so I think it's a mix of expert surgery and plain luck lol.

Congrats on finishing with your final stage, nicks!  You must be thrilled.  How many stages was it for you?  I assume you had phallo?  Dig the government pay or did you have to pay out of pocket?

I know what you mean about people saying that some surgeons don't have a good bedside manner.  Garramone did my top surgery and I found him to be friendly, patient about all of my questions, and quite thorough in discussion.  It is not unusual for guys to say they found him to not have a good bedside manner.  I am not exactly sure what they mean by that, but I was quite happy with him.

Thanks Bimmer, I've been a little down actually it I think it's the pain and fatigue from the operation, I was sick only days before hand so that hasn't helped! Apparently I can have more minor work done at a later stage but I don't think I could be bothered, it's such a long way to go and it's pretty exhausting.

All in all for my three operations in a two year span it's probably cost me $80k with no govo assistance and including airfares, apartment, exchange rates etc but not including any food purchased.

I think everyone should go in with the expectation that their surgeon is going to have poor bedside manners, that way if the surgeon is pleasant you'll be pleasantly surprised haha

Nicks, congrats! Glad to hear you've had a good experience with Dr. Djinovic. Can I ask what you paid for the first stage alone? I'm sure it's a little more now since you started 2 years ago, but I'd like to get a rough idea.

Ooo I really can't remember, the price has definitely increased since then though. I have the number 17 in my head, it cost me over that in AUD this time around so maybe it was 17,500 euros for the first one?
