I have real issues with my dad and his side of the family, to the point i've hidden and denied being trans for 8 years. I stopped all communication with them 3 months ago, and i finally felt strong enough to tell my mum and my brothers about myself, so i'll be starting the ball rolling properly next week. I feel blessed, my brothers only comment was that if i get a better beard than him he will shave it off in my sleep! The other one just shrugged and told me to be happy. I've got a pretty solid support group socially as well, and i am aware that barring my dad and his family i'm very lucky to know who i do.

I guess i just wanted to share a positive story, and say hi at the same time, so hi, and also yay, some of the threads on here are awesome. I'm looking forward to being able to match my body to my mind, however long it takes. [emoji4]

Congrats on coming out to your brothers. I'm glad they at least want you to be happy which is fantastic in itself. Hugs

That's great! Having the support of your family makes everything so much easier. Maybe in time your Father will come around to your side. In the meantime, you won't have to go it alone. Congratulations for having the courage to go forward and let your family know who you really are.
