" Big Brother has had its share of memorable, controversial, and noteworthy contestants. Now, in the shows seventeenth season, the CBS Reality competition will welcome its first transgender House Guest. "

Part of my says yay, more visibility. But the cynical part says, another attempt to exploit public fascination with us for profit.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

I thought Nadia Almada was Big Brothers First Transgender Contestant back in the 5 series in 2004, she was also the winner, and a well deserved winner too   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nadia_Almada

That's what I'm thinking as well.   I know Hollywood producers, and trust me, the name of the game is raking in as much cash as humanly possible.  Right now transgender is a very hot and controversial topic in the US and we have more eyes on us than ever before.  If there is money to be had via transploitation, Hollywood will figure out how to extract it.

I just hope that Audrey refuses to propagate any negative stereotypes and remembers that she is an ambassador of sorts for the entire trans community.

Audrey is the first transgender house guest on the U.S. version of big brother.  She is a real human, and aspired winner just like ever other house guest.  Yes Big Brother intentionally puts interesting and diverse people into the house.

I love Audrey, but damn girl get your head on strait.  She freak out ever other hour.  lol.

I love Big Brother.

I like BB too, and she is a little on edge most of the time, but she's doing well so far.

She did work Jace out, but oh that late night meeting.  I love her, but she needs to change her game.  I think she does't understand some in the house can read her.  She is overestimating her ability to deceive.  The poker player (Da'Vonne) has her read.  However the Da'Vonne might be the best cold read player since the best ever Dr Wil.  She is going to be hard for Audrey's game.

I've been watching BB since the first season, so I pretty much squealed (like the manly man I am ::)) when I heard this news. I adore her as a person, she seems really sweet and she's hilarious, but I'm not a fan of her gameplay. I do hope this'll raise more visibility for trans people, even if it only changes the perspective of one person then she's doing some good in that sense.
