I met with another therapist yesterday, my third in the last three months. The first one I only saw for one session, and was not a good match at all. The second one I found through my company's Employee Assistance Program. She has been fantastic, but EAP only covers 8 sessions a year and she sadly does not accept my insurance. The EAP therapist did however, work very hard to find a suitable therapist that is accepting patients and accepts my insurance.
Our first session went very well. When I first arrived, she left the room to photocopy my insurance card. That gave me to opportunity to scan her book shelves. There were several books related to transgender issues, a few that I haven't read yet. When she returned and closed the door there was a sign on the back stating "Transphobia and Homophobia will not be tolerated here".
I think this is going to be a really good fit.
