More good news. I got a letter from my doctor today to say that she has referred me to the GIC in Fulham Palace Road in London, UK and that I should expect to receive an appointment letter in due course. Has anyone here got any experience of that particular GIC? Would love to hear from others that have gone there before. It's been many years since I last went to London and with me living in Reading, in Berkshire, I'll have to jump on a train or two just to get there (hopefully on time).

Thanks.

Thats Charing-X - probably the most famous (some might say infamous) GIC in the land.

Some people who go there get on great, others have a tough time, its like everything else in life, there are no guarrantees, but its a competent place, and as long as you get on ok with whoever you see you should be fine.

I've never been there, but as a medical student I've been taught by a few of the doctors that work there, and indeed met one or two at a conference too so needless to say my opinion is broadly positive subject to the limitations that I stated at the start.

I wish you a good experience.

Thanks, Jenny.

I had a feeling it was CX as I didn't think there were that many in London. It basically just said the road it was on in the letter, so I initially thought it might have been somewhere else, hence why I asked (now I feel silly!!).

Thanks again. I hope all goes well, too. I've only spoken to my doctor once in an in person discusion, so I'm a little nervous talking to someone I've never spoken to before.
