Venom

Thank you AndrewB and harlee!

At 22 I would hope I look older than 12-16, which may explain why I get misgendered if I do the speaking first. Though today I did get called mate by the same lady who referred to me with feminine pronouns, so I dunno, it could just be an Aussie thing.  I think T would certainly help me out, and I'm hoping to be on it by the end of the year. Fingers crossed. My voice is considerably deeper than what is was when I was 18... I sounded like I was 8 then.

BMTH: I would place you in the 25-30 range without knowing your age or what you look like.

AndrewB: I'd say early 20s, and your voice sounds pretty much inline with your appearance. What I mean by that is you look to be in your early twenties as well.

Don't worry, you'll sound like a burly gentleman soon enough on T ;). And thanks! I'm actually 18, going on 19, so it's cool to know I look a little older than that!

Well, thought I'd give it a shot, here's mine  http://vocaroo.com/i/s1pip3N6dF2G

Five months? I'm jealous, you definitely sound in your 20s or 30s.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.

Thanks AndrewB, but my wife thinks I still sound like a teenage boy. ??? I'm in my late 30's, it was embarrassing when my voice first started to drop.  For the past couple of weeks, it seems settling down, less cracking.  I had a pretty severe voice dysphoria pre-T.   I used to think my voice sounded like Mickey Mouse, so when my voice started to drop, I was like a fat kid in a candy store!

You all sound really good.

My turn :p http://vocaroo.com/i/s1C6PlLzTpEz

Hey Raptor, I'd say your in ur late teen, maybe early 20s, definitely not 15 yr old boy tho.  cheers!

RaptorChops

Lol thanks, I'm 30 so that's a plus!!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.

Here's mine! I'm 21 and sometimes I get a little self conscious of my voice. I always ask my GF if I sound gay or not lmao http://vocaroo.com/i/s00BboGTMqfd
I've found you, Beast!

hey guys,

Hahaha don't worry about the Harry Potter comparison - I'll take that as a compliment  :D

Anyway that's the result :D http://vocaroo.com/i/s0VFk0Tkw4H0

Honestly, my voice doesn't sound like that 99% of the time... don't know what's going on today, but as I said in the record, I'm going to upload a second "more realistic" one some other day. At least that today's "accident" makes the age-sounding-question quite interesting :P

There we go, that's my freakin' high voice after so much time on T. http://vocaroo.com/i/s0X5SacNbpFc
It could be worse, but still - I'm kinda frustrated  :embarrassed:
For me it sounds like there could be months of T between these two recordings =.=

You have no reason to get self conscious dude you sound awesome and you don't have a lisp- (Like your stereotypical gay man lol..of course no offense to any men who are gay here)

and I agree Shin, you sound like Harry Potter hahaha but you sound like a 20 y/o guy. You sound great and I'm jealous of the accent :P
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.

Probably going to delete the link later, but I do want some thoughts before I do that. And excuse the lisp; I can usually get rid of it if I try but that's too much effort for a 13-second clip.

@RaptorChops, I'd say late teens, early to mid-twenties, perhaps. Definitely not 15, you're too hard on yourself  :D

@Rengar, I'd say anywhere in your 20s, leaning toward the earlier ones (21-23), you sound great!

@Shin it's not too much different, if I didn't know any better I'd say it was just different tone fluctuations (e.g. mood, affect, etc. changing your voice).

@Sentinel, I'd guess around 14-15. And yeah it's natural for us to hear it deeper in our heads because we also pick up on the vibrations via our jaws, so it sounds deeper usually than it does to others. Also, some mics don't pick up bass tones as well as treble ones, so that might have something to do with it, depending on mic quality. You sound good though, way deeper than my voice was pre-T!

Rengar, you sounds great!  I'd guess you're in your early 20's even if you hasn't told us you're 21. lol

Shinigami, even with your normally higher voice, you sound absolutely male, I'd guess you're in your early 20's.

Sentinel, you sound pretty good pre-T.  You sound just like one of those guys who has higher range, maybe late teen? You will do good if and when you decided to go on T.

Thanks, man. It does sound deeper in my head, but other people have told me it sounds deeper or "more rich" when it's not being played back on a recording (for the record, I'm 16, but my voice has been around this pitch since 5th grade).

Thanks; I'm probably starting T in the next few months, so we'll see.

Hmm 16-20, which seems like a large range, but it has to do with the fact that you seem to have deeper tones that you can hit, yet your voice is a little on the higher range; just a high-pitched male voice. I would definitely gender you male over the phone, though. And wow, you've been on T for a long while!

Venom, I think your voice passes for a 12 year old boy. I don't think your voice is feminine, I just think it sounds like it could go either way at the moment :P

Dark wolf, it sounded like you were in a nice rainforest haha its a little hard to hear your voice properly but i'd probably say you sound around 12 aswell
I have no idea why I picked up more of the noise of what was going outside rather than my voice but oh well.

Quote from: AndrewB on July 14, 2015, 09:07:56 PM
Yeah Dark Wolf your voice was a bit tough to hear but I pretty much agree with Harlee, 12-13, 14 at the most.
I probably look twelve in real life but after hearing everyone five or more months on T, I am hopeful.

Guys, I came across a recording I did 6 days after I started T.  My voice didn't change much at the time, so I thought I post a voice comparison recording. http://vocaroo.com/i/s1PNET4kHbGT Let me know what u think.
