are any of you from my area and know of a support group i could be part of?

Lucky for both of us (jk, this place sucks), I live in Indiana too, and know a lot of trans people in the state. I don't know many people that far north, but I can tell you that there's a prominent group in Indy called "Indy Boys"/"Indy Girls". It's not associated with a school, so that may be an option. Regardless, I'd still look into the IPFW group, as I am a student at IU - Bloomington, and our trans support group certainly draws people from even outside of Bloomington. I promise you that IPFW's and Indianapolis' groups will be happy to have you.

Yeah, I would be shocked if they turned you away because you weren't a student. PFLAG has a local chapter, too. It doesn't have a trans-inclusive name, but they are fully inclusive.
