Not sure if this is in the right part of the forums but I just really need to vent. I'm sure other people have had better experiences with Cigna than I, and I probably messed up somewhere by not looking into this stuff any more but things shouldn't be this complicated.

First of all they have very crappy customer service and they haven't covered any part of my transition. I didn't know what I was supposed to do and I called them to find out what I was supposed to do about getting my surgery covered. The girl on the phone says "Oh.. you just fill out a claim form and send it in". Me being dumb assumed "Oh ok" sounds easy enough.

I could not find any doctors in my area that would be covered under my plan (The most expensive one they offer at my job.. because this one was supposed to cover ALL of it).  My Endo does not take insurance and my Surgeon didn't take my insurance either. I was lucky to at least have money saved up so I could afford everything. I didn't want to go to somebody that I could not find any information about so I went with more reputable folks.

After my surgery and Cigna knowing about my surgery since April 1st, I started receiving all of these forms that I needed my surgeon to fill out. One was for FMLA, one was for the claim and so, I drove 2 1/2 hours after trying to recover to get my forms filled out (They gave me 5 days to get this crap filled out). I got that all taken care of and was relaxed until a week ago. I get another set of forms for Short Term Disability and then a letter saying they never received my claim and if I don't get that done in 30 days they were closing my claim. My doctor told me that everything was sent out to them. So NOW I have to go back up there Monday and get the same crap filled out again as well as get a return to work slip for the 6 weeks I was on leave.

It's just been very stressful and I don't understand why my forms weren't sent to me BEFORE my leave even happened. I really should have looked into everything a lot more but what can ya do? I have this feeling though that they won't take my claim and will say well we don't cover this because you have no proof of your transition prior to your surgery.  I'm kicking myself..

Lol oh and to add insult to injury when they sent me one of my forms it addressed me as Ms.
Thanks for adding salt to my wounds Cigna.
