The eyes and ears are strange because most of the time they return an illusion. I have learned to override that illusion and see things as they are as the result of speech therapy and photography but it takes a fair amount of effort to do so.
This comes in handy when attempting to change our image because it means the whole face need not be altered but only the few things that the eye is using to make the determination need to be altered. Using my picture as an after example, I pulled the hair over my forehead to shorten my face. Short hair on the sides rounds out my face. My nose was worked on correcting some shape issues but the size and shape was more or less maintained. The hormones added a small amount of fat to my face softening my features and in the picture light makeup help to cover skin flaws and soften the look of my skin.
The picture of the person in the link is pretty lucky because that face can be made feminine without surgery using much the same process used on my face. I don't see the face as all that masculine but more as not having much of in the way of sexual features in it. A few small changes will make it look feminine. FFS seems to have become pretty standard now and some people do benefit by it, but many of us can wait for the hormones to do their job and use the trick that CIS women have been using for years.
