Hi!
So, I am kind of out in my home- Tampa Bay, FL, but right now I present as the real me on a limited basis- out with friends to relatively safe/tolerant places and full time at home. I have not yet hit the point where I am comfortable just rolling up to the grocery store as a woman, for example. This weekend, my partner and I are going to New Orleans (French Quarter/Frenchmen's District area) for a long weekend to meet some friends and I plan to be me for the duration of the visit. Call it a mini-RLE. I have visited New Orleans 7-8 times of the years and know the French Quarter well... as a male. As a transwoman presenting as such (not all that passable yet) I am concerned about navigating the area safely and having a good time. Any tips? Good places to go outside of the LBGT areas? Places to stay away from? How will a 6'3" woman do in the French Market on Saturday afternoon? Etc. Any can't miss places for a transperson to go experience?
Thank you for any suggestions/advice!
