Hi all!

I have been thinking and planning when I want to get my GRS lately and I have come down to two conclusions. Well 3 if I want to go to Dr Bowers but her waiting list is insanely long haha.

So for all you girls who have had GRS with either Dr Brassard or Dr McGinn, I was just wondering if you're satisfied with their work and possibly talk about the pros and cons or implications you have had? Sorry if that is a personal question.

I'm stuck on deciding which one to go with so any sort of experience from either of those two would help. :)

I went to brassard, my only complains was the fused labia minora above the urethra, but it is minor asthetics as everything worked as it should and couldn't ask for any better.

Oooo thanks for the links. Ah, I guess aesthetics is pretty minor compared to it functioning properly and not having any problems.

I went to Brassard, and here's a link to my long review of the experience, but please feel free to ask anything else... I'm about 3 years post-op now.

I went to Menard who trained Brassard. I couldn't ask for better results especially in a single-step operation. Very pleased:)

Ooo Brassard seems more and more appealing now haha. Well I guess I still have quite a long wait before I can get GRS. Thanks for the insight girls :)

My personal preference would be to go to Dr. Brassard, since he has a lot more experience.

I had my surgery with McGinn earlier this summer. The deciding factors for me were: reputation, insurance coverage, personal comfort (after consultation), and convenience (location and timeline). I didn't consider Brassard because of the insurance issue.

It's hard to tell about longer-term outcomes right now, since it's still so early, but I'm happy with my decision, and would do it again. My initial recovery has been smooth. I'm satisfied with my interactions with the surgeon and her office.

I think that any of the highly-reputable surgeons in the US and Canada, and the two or three in Thailand who seem to be doing excellent work, would be fine choices. This is such a routine, predictable surgery for them these days. All of them would have good days and less good days, and we all heal differently. Not to be blasé about it, but isn't it like that? It's the biggest thing in the world for us, but all in a day's work for them.

For my part, I think it's important to meet the surgeons in advance, if you can, just to make yourself comfortable with your choice and their take on the process. And choose a surgeon/place you can afford with some buffer, that's reasonably easy for a partner/friend/family member to accompany you.
