Hello unicorn! I don't know what your intersex condition would be... What I know is that nobody who had been through testosterone driven puberty shouldn't have pear shaped body (at least in terms of what would most people consider pear shape body...), because some of the things testosterone causes would be rib-cage growth and broadening of the shoulders. That alone practically exclude chances to have considerably narrower shoulders than hips, unless if someone would go for hip implants or any other surgical intervention.

Hey there!  :D yep exactly I agree but my rib cage is also pretty small, its 29 inches so yeah I have no idea honestly. Either I got super lucky with my genetics or there's something else going on.

From inverted triangle to pear

...Actually heading towards curvy pear at this point :o

Start of HRT
35-29-34 // 5'9" @ 130lbs // shoulder 43 // thigh 21 // WHR 0.85

Current (2.5yrs HRT + fat transfer)
39-29-41.5 // 5'7" @ 160lbs // shoulder 40 // thigh 24.5 // WHR 0.70

Measurements don't do justice, though. My hips don't look like that of a cis "pear".

Hmmm, let me try this in your format:

Start of HRT (approximately)
37-30-36.5 // 6'1" @ 144lbs // shoulder 43 // thigh (not measured) // WHR 0.82

Current (21 months HRT)
39-30-37 // 6'1" @ 150lbs // shoulder 42 // thigh 21 // WHR 0.81
(bust has fluctuated as high as 40 before but is currently right at 39)

I've always considered my body to be a rectangle shape and it probably always will be.  As you can see from the numbers I've always been quite slim for my height and didn't have much fat available to re-locate or muscle to lose.  The only really obvious change has been the development of 34B breasts starting from ribs-flat.  Certainly everything headed in the right direction but I get the clear impression I've probably nearly exhausted the limits of change possible for me already.

I've seen enough examples of true inverted-triangle bodies to know I'm not one, but I still find it maddening trying to get clothes that fit and flatter my proportions.  I have really long arms and it's a toss-up between that or shoulders screwing up the fit of a shirt or jacket I'm trying on.  Persistence has paid off though because I now have quite an extensive wardrobe.  (My mom was just complaining I used up all our clothes hangers!)

As an Aussie, I'm going to say surfboard.. Where that fits in, I have no idea.. But it's all flat and straight up and down..

I didn't think there are scientists who spend their time setteling criteria for womens body shapes. I guess you never know.. although I personally believe good old common sense might be good enough for most people to distinguish between different body shapes.

I'd expect study of human body proportions to be an interdisciplinary thing. That is, observed by more than one branch. Like one of these. Common sense doesn't necessarily make sense contracted with categorical statements; that is a way to get discussions stuck.

Let's just say if I wear a white dress and get distracted I end up with somebody's kids' drawings stuck on me.

Pear with 43" hips. And yeah, I was subjected to testosterone and went through puberty, but still had feminine hips. *Shrugs.* It happens, it's possible. As for my shoulders, they're not exceptionally wide for my height and build, and my ribs aren't as big as they could be. I did have one woman point out they were 'a bit large' though when she was fitting me for a corset.. :embarrassed:

Totes rectangle up in here. Used to be a stick, now a stick that looks like she swallowed a basketball.

Up there in the topic I didn't feel like flashing numbers to 'prove' my point. :-) I'm not even proud of my figure. But its measurements are classified as pear shape. It is wide hip and a small rib cage.

I decided to measure myself today, and I am 38-27-39. This gives me a WHR of 0.69 which is near the ideal of 0.70. I'll take it I guess.

Almost 8 months on HRT, with a short pause for surgery and now that I've restarted things are growing with a vengeance. :)
