"Republican Presidential wannabe Mike Huckabee has claimed that allowing trans people in the military would turn it into a "social club".

Gay, lesbian and bisexual people have been permitted to openly serve in the US military since 2013, when Don't Ask Don't Tell was repealed.

The US military continues to ban transgender people from serving under outdated medical regulations – which disqualifies people from service if they have "current or history of psychosexual conditions, including but not limited to transsexualism, exhibitionism, transvestism, voyeurism, and other paraphilias" – but the Pentagon is readying plans to lift the ban."

Politifact says mike huckabee never served in the military.  What place is it for him to say, save for his fancy to be commander in chief?

Sometimes I wonder if people like Mike Herpaderp has ever gone to any professional setting ever. Do they believe that LGBT people only congregate in clubs or something?

I think Huckabee keeps saying these ridiculous things just so he can keep his name out there. I think the last poll showed him at about 2%. Probably won't make the cut for the debate. Ex-pastor Huckabee is irrelevant. He's just playing to the ultra-conservative Christian right - and it ain't happening.

While I enjoyed his TV show, He is really off the rails whenever he tries to run for political office. He tries to be the moral majority candidate and he may be but that's only about a third of the Republican party and he would still need to win some votes from the Democratic party.

I think he should go back to the TV show where he stayed away from religion and work on getting a real conservative leader selected for the Republican party.

OK, Transsexual =/= paraphilia. This needs fixed NOW.  I just love it when I get officially lumped in with child molesters, necrophiliacs and pigf***ers.

I think it's safe to say that Huckabee won't be getting my vote, even if he is inexplicably handed the GOP nomination (not happening).
