so something has been bugging me, how many fly coach or business class to get srs in thailand? and how did you go about getting the best price on airline tickets??

We wanted to fly business or first class, but those tickets would have been 10-20,000. We are not flying coach neither, I went ahead and spent the money for a little more leg room and that only added another 1000 per ticket, round trip. You just need to do your research on traveling, leaving on different days or at different time of days and what days you travel on has an impact on cost. Best of luck to.

and then maybe go to a travel agency and explain there you will have a surgery in thailand and what they would recommend.
Its possible they can get some better prices.

Another hint is that some docs write a letter for the airline companies, stating people had surgery and need a wheelchair and a better accomodation.
Some airlines give replacement seats. This might be asked, and maybe even reserved with the airline for the flight back.

I flew coach, but I didn't have SRS, and the return flight was very unpleasant, but business class would have been another $3,500.00, and first class was 8k, so the whole point of going to Thailand (quality surgery for less money) would have been negated, if I purchased an upgrade.

wow really? I know someone who is having their SRS in November, so they should wait until the end of the month to buy a ticket then? they told me they found business class tickets for like 4500 and coach for about 1100. i told them to
buy coach but they really want the extra space so this is why im asking

You could always fly coach on the way there and business on the way back.

You might also want to buy tickets where you can change the dates without it costing too much, just in case.

Depending on where you are flying from you should try to fly with an airline that has Premium Economy. I have a bad leg (due to surgery in Germany from a Strep infection) and I fly everywhere in Premium Economy using points to get an upgrade in Business Class. However some Premium Economy is better than others. The very best is Air New Zealand. Also excellent in Cathay Pacific.  United have premium Economy but  their's is pretty ropey by comparison. Singapore Airlines have just launched Premium Economy.
