here is a hint to a guide:

this might help concerning a list for packing:

some people reported some problems with adhesions with Chettawut...
even if its only a small percentage...
maybe this could be talked through with him before an operation...
I personally would talk about a minimum depth even if there are risks...

ok then... some said the dusit has one advantage if you are alone... they might be a bit pricier but the personnel speaks a bit better english and they might be a bit more helpful...

in the cottages you might have a bit more of a possibility to make some company... you might use that in the first days, so you have someone in case...

and there were descriptions of others to stock on food... where to buy, and what to stock on... so you have everything ready after the op...

Apparently there's a supermarket across the street from the cottages now. My plan is to spend a day or so cooking  and storing meals and snacks to eat when I'm discharged from hospital.

Did bloods and chest X-ray today.. hospital was weirded out by the chest xray cause apparently its unusual for someone young to need a chest X-ray prior to surgery.. apparently they only do for 60+ people in my country....

total price of recommendation letters, lab work and xray? $0:00

Got passport, plane tickets, paid deposit. just have to wait for labs result and forward them through...
everything happening super quick :)

As you exit the hotel grounds, turn RIGHT and go about 4 blocks down. There will be a large pedestrian bridge. You have to climb stairs, cross the street, and descend. There is a Tesco Lotus on the other side of that bridge, and I would best describe it like Walmart or Target. There are groceries, clothes, just about anything you could need. It might pay to take a taxi back to the hotel if you buy a lot in one trip, depending on your cash situation. To/from Tesco was about 45 Baht each way (call it $1.50 or so) and we'd always round up to 60 or 70 Baht as tip to the driver.

The restaurant at the Bangkok Rama has excellent food and is inexpensive compared to some restaurants out around town. I ate more than my share of chef's salads, or the fried pork and spaghetti with marinara sauce. :)

There is a Seven Eleven just about 1 block to the right as you leave the hotel grounds too, for quicker access for minor items.

The hotel grounds are large and you may walk a long way to reach the front. Best that you be as prepared as possible before surgery, because afterwards you will want to minimize walking and will be tired a lot.

Good luck! I'm leaving for home tonight and have been completely satisfied thus far with my surgery and results from Dr. Chettawut.

Wow Liz Marie!  Seems like you just got there.  I'm happy that your procedure went well and you are pleased with the results.  Will save your tips as I prepare for my "journey" Still looking at Jan. 21.

I'm currently sitting in my little cottage in Thailand. I come from a pretty cold part of the world, I'm not cut out for this weather... The aircon is my deity now.
