Quite easy to look after too, dont get too big, easily tamed, but will eat you out of house and home!!!! lol

He's from the desert and he eats crickets and mealworms (they're them things you can get dried to give to birds, gecko's prefer them live )

Desert where? Sahara? New Mexico? Or all desert areas?
And what does he feel like? Scaly? Slimy?

but... he just feels like skin really. His back and tail is a bit tougher than everywhere else, but i wouldn't say he's scaly and definatly not slimy!  I dont think there is any reptile out there that really is slimy!

Salamanders are amphibians...dunno how that differs from reptiles, but a lot of amphibians can be slimy.

I"ll ask someone at work about it (I work at a Petco).

Amphibians are still basicly aquatic creatures, and like fish, they need to coated in water at all times. Those creatures that live partially out of water have a "slimy" coating to keep them moist when they're out of water.

So reptiles that live on land are not slimy. Their scales can be as soft as skin or rock hard, but they're dry.

he's quite shy and nervous, but he's still only a baby and gradually getting used to me ^.^

Yeah he makes sounds lol He sounds like a mini dinosaur when he feels threatened, really cute!
