I had a scalp expander placement in May so we could lower my hairline, then FFS Wednesday. I had hairline lowering, eyebrow lift and orbital bony contour, lip lift with fat augment, and chin reduction and contour.

After the surgery I felt so good they pretty much had to force me to ride the wheelchair down lol, and once back at the place we're staying I had no issues being up and about. The next day my follow up was at 8:30 AM and I got dressed up and went by myself, then did a little shopping afterwards and ate a nice lunch at a local place before heading back. My pain has been pretty much nonexistent other than a little sore and stiff. I'm running out again, but I'll post more later.  :)

Wow, Erin, that is amazing!  Thank you for posting these pictures. You look beautiful. If I may ask, how much did all this cost?

Thanks  :) I had to have the expander placed in a separate procedure in May, I think my total for everything was somewhere around 17k.

I'm feeling even better today, still sore and stiff but not really any pain. I'm really looking forward for the rest of the swelling to go away.

Amazing work!!!

How much were you able to lower the hairline with the tissue expander?

A few inches; I don't know the exact measurement. The first pic gives a good idea, except he ended up going even lower and he started well inside my hairline due to thinning.

This was the night before, note the small mole slightly left of centerlinr of my face.

This was just a little while ago, the mole is now much closer to my hairline.

If you look closely at this pic, you'll see a black line inside my hairline. That's what became my new hairline, once he lowered it just below the lower black line. 2-3 inches maybe?

I'm really glad I went to Mayer. I'm real life friends with Riya and Vanna, and love how he worked on them and also his aesthetic sense matches mine.

A few weeks ago, I let a friend drag me to a second consult with Dr. Deschamps (as I live in SF), and I did come away impressed. He and his team are incredibly professional and detail-oriented, and from the work of his I've seen in person he may very well be better than Dr. O ever was.

The only real disconnect with him was he seems to be incredibly aggressive in his work while I was looking to be more subtle, and he also wanted to basically rebuild my face for 53k. Now I can afford that, but while I was unhappy with my face I certainly wasn't 53k worth of unhappy, So I ended up still going with Mayer. Deschamps is still an excellent option for someone wanting or needing aggressive work and a type 3 forehead reconstruction, but he simply wasn't a match for my goals and desired result.

Something interesting I just noticed is apparently a lip lift gives a semi-nose job, as it pulled the back down and rotated the tip up a touch. I've had exactly zero surgery to the nose itself.

Very nice remark. It looks like the columella has been lenghtened a bit, giving the impression of a more pronounced tip rotation. It really looks *great*, very cute. I would like to know if it remains looking the same over time. Have you any swelling on the liplift scar area?

PS: So far despite the swelling the overall result looks amazing, very very cute.

Mayer is an amazing doctor.  The results tend to always look very natural. What do you think how did he do with your orbital rims?

Thanks! Also that seems to be pretty much what happened. I wasn't expecting it, but it makes sense now thinking about how a lip lift works.

I have a little bit of swelling on the upper lip left, but it's not really noticeable.

Pretty happy actually. I don't seem to have any bossing left, although there's still a touch of swelling to go down before I'm 100% sure. I'm certain a type 3 would have been more dramatic and put me squarely within a female range, but I can tell im going to look perfectly fine and attractive as is. In fact I had a date last night!  :D

The thing I like about Mayer is he seems to step back and look at the total package holistically, instead of getting hung up in minutiae with a feature or two. I've seen waaaay too many girls that looked great in pics but in person with their bodies in context they just looked "off", and I haven't seen that from Mayer.

With that said, I don't think there's one 'best' surgeon, I think they all have different skill sets and aesthetics that requires a prospective patient to honestly examine what they both need and want. If you're needing a moderately aggressive bit of work and want to look as natural as possible, he's an excellent choice.

WOW! :icon_eek: That sure is a great recovery! The days following my FFS, I looked like my face went through a windshield now that I look back at my pictures and videos. I had a rhinoplasty/septoplasty that contributed to my swelling and bruising though.

Wow most people are not able to leave the hotel room at day 8 and you had a date at day 2. Mayer technique seems less traumatic and you look human str8 after the surgery.
I think that you look better without your eyebrow makeup.
