The evening was wonderful
The wine flowed
We talked about us
And everything else
We made plans, as lovers do
We kissed and hugged and somehow forgot

Then the cab came to take me home
I kissed him
With lingering regret.
I leave again but cannot accept
This pain inside, his lovely kiss

I'm a woman and know realise
The price I paid

You need to add one more line to that - and it will be a sonnet - which is the traditional poetic form for a love poem.

See? You're getting the poetry bug! :D

It's quite good.
