I hope I don't offend anyone. Why do some women that dress as men have a less of a hard time going out in public than men like myself who dress as female do?

cultural acceptance , in most countries ( not all ) women have more freedom in how they dress. men tend to be much more restricted to the "manly man box" in how they present to others. again this can vary somewhat depending on the country in question.

Women used to have that problem. In the early 1900s the idea of a woman wearing pants was considered rather outrageous. But women fought for their right to dress as men. Men haven't fought for the opposite. It's all culture, society and silly gender politics.

I made a mistake one time a sheriff's deputy walked over from a neighbors house to see if we heard anything thst they had someone break a window at the old storen I didn't know she was a female the way she had her hair cut I said no sir we didn't we sleep on the back we don't hear anything in the front on count of our central heat&air conditioning unit is an old one and noisey.My wife said she was a female so I corrected myself and apologied to her.

Very crudely put.....

There are two answers. Firstly most men do no care about clothes. As long as they are warm or dry or protective that is good enough.

And then there is the more sinister reason

The most dangerous males are the repressed homophobes and transphobes

A woman dressing as a man will be ignored by these dangerous types because they will never admit to a sexual interest in someone else who appears male. 

A man dressed as a woman (or even a transwoman) will be seen by homophobes as female until he finds out and will then be regarded as a male. To the homophobe this "outs" him. Everyone will know the truth, his friends will laugh, his family will mock him. So he "proves" his "manhood" by reacting violently.  By beating that person up or through violent assault he shows he was tricked and how angry because is a "real man". These sorts will never agree to anything that might allow another man to look feminine because they might make a "mistake" or worse still be attracted.

In truth it is he who needs help. Homophobes often suppress their inner natures just as many trans people do.

If they got help we would ALL be safer and happier

Sorry, but that's different. The women in the early part of last century were cis gender fghting for equality with cis gender men. Jenner is trans gender, and like all of us, fighting for the right to be herself. If cis gender men start wearing clothing considered female clothing then things might change.

Correct what I get aggravated with is men wearing pants or shorts showing off their underwear ie:boxershorts at least when we dress as women at least we are decent.

Because sexism is still rampant. Anything masculine is considered desirable while anything feminine is considered "weak". Men are "supposed" to be masculine so a man wearing women's clothing is either "weak" or a "pervert" according to the current culture.

I think if cismen started wearing women's clothing then women MIGHT have better designed clothes. That's my issue with them. They're always aesthetics over function.

Actually I would say that women's clothing FITS better than mens but it is not as DURABLE. Ladies jeans are far, far more comfy than mens.

Isn't it odd how our perspective colours our viewpoint?

You are right about that I strictly wear women jeans and panties and occasionally I wear a dress or skirt depends on where I am going thats all I have ever wore cause they are comfortable and the fact they are womens.

Culture. A kilt is specifically designed for someone's family or clan. The pattern is almost like a coat of arms, so to speak. A skirt...is just the bottom half of a dress

There are men who wear skirts.  I used to lurk on a forum for them.  There was still the fashion police, though: the only acceptable skirts were ones that didn't look too 'femme'.  If you wanted to wear something too feminine for the fashion police, you weren't welcome on the forum.  I guess it's baby steps.  They are breaking ground.  Just slowly.
