Hello! I am beginning the process! My consult I booked this week... was for March. Apparently the backog is that far.... is that normal? What can I expect for a waiting time for surgery after a consult?

Depends on the doctor. Dr. McGinn wouldn't even talk to me for six month until I transported myself 150 miles to her office for an in-person consult.

Dr. Rumer happily consulted over the phone and was willing to book a surgery date for exactly the time I wanted.

Guess which one got my money...

Hello Lauren, no waiting with Dr. Alexander Sinclair of Beverly Hills, CA.  Pick a day, Monday, Wednesday or Friday.  Also out of Beverly Hills, Dr. Gary Alter has a very short wait time.
Pretty cool huh!

Thank you,
Anne

How far are you?  A lot require the one year real life experience so that impacts your timing anyways.  I've signed up with dr bowers for surgery in march and did that last december(I hear she has a ~14 month backlog).  My real life experience hit the one year mark in june. They do try and get you in earlier if possible but I am hitting insurance roadblocks anyways and may have to wait until HR removes them on January 1st.

I have seen a lot of people get moved up by dr bowers.  Either way I prefer to know the surgeon is highly recommended and to be honest last december it seemed like forever until surgery but this year has flown by and fall is right around the corner.  Before you know it christmas and new years have passed and march is only a short time away.

Last I heard on Meltzer it was several months to wait for a consult. I think I ended up waiting 4 or 5 months possibly 6 months for mine and the procedure itself is now easily in to Spring of 2017. It was January when I was down there in May, but I was pre scheduled for mine so I was able to get a date before that point. Hugs

Ultimately I'm waiting to get my name changed. I'm looking into doing that this month. Last I heard Dr Bowers has a 2 year waiting list. That's what they told me when I contacted them.

That is correct, two  years on Bowers. I plan to go to Kathy Rumer or Toby Meltzer. Rumors list is shorter though and I like her results, but have a friend just 20 minutes from Meltzer so I would not have the extra expense of a long hotel stay. What does a girl do?? :)

Rumer will house you and your friend for 9 nights in her recovery facility. (Night before surgery, 3 nights in hospital and 5 nights following). As of last summer, the cost was $75/night for the room. It's included as part of the price of surgery.
