My junior year of high school starts in about 3 weeks. This will be the first year that I'll really be openly trans masculine. I've already come out and all of my peers, parents, and one or two teachers know. I'm wondering now if I should come out to all of my teachers this year too? Also, I run on the girls' varsity track team. This will be my 3rd year doing both winter and spring. I'm wondering if I should even come out to my coach? I'm pre-T and 4'11" (which is already a disadvantage on the girls' team), so I don't think I'd want to be on the boys team unless I've been on T for a while. So would it even be worth telling my coach about my gender?

That's hard, because a lot of schools right now are starting to conform to gender identities "not all but some" and if you start testosterone, then thats a whole different situation for running. If it's keeping you from being actually happy, then I'd say go for it, and who knows maybe you can keep running on womens. I'd say if you start T then you should try out for mens running. You'd be surprised was testosterone does to your muscles. :)

ya who you tell is up to you, though if you plan on presenting as masculine its likely best to tell everyone, if most of the students already know it will get around anyways. Running on the girls team should be fine if your comfortable with it, but like Atria said if you start T it may become a issue or question. Then again if your not starting T and wanted to run on the boys team that could also cause the school issues, many school boards will listen to sexist individuals who will try and convince them that it could be somehow dangerous to you.

ok rant over.

What is a Lie when it's at home? Anyone?
Is it the depressed little voice inside? Whispering in my ear? Telling me to give up?
Well I'm not giving up. Not for that part of me that hates myself. That part wants me to wither and die. not for you. Never for you.  --Loki: Agent of Asgard
