Something I've noticed here is the churn of attendance. New faces come and old faces go. It rather reminds me of school where over the summer people would move away and others would move into town. ... It leaves me feeling like a mother bird worrying about her chicks who have just learned that they could fly.

It leaves so many questions unanswered, so much unwritten. ... It is depressing.

ahem . . . perhaps what this forum needs is a couple of polarizing hot topics to keep folks returning ???

Maybe it just reflects the nature of transition and Susan's will always be somewhat like a revolving door.  Kelly, who was our welcome lady in several previous Susan's formats has disappeared without a word and I do wonder what happened to her.

Also there are many members who leave for a while then return Alexandra.  There are quite a few instances when this whole trans thing gets to members to such a degree that even being a part of Susan's becomes too much so they just take a break from the constant bombardment of issues.

As far as starting "polarizing hot topics to keep folks returning" we hope that you all will do that on a regular basis, as that's one of the parts of Susan's that is so great, and feel free to start a new topic at any time Alexandra :) the more the merrier.  I notice the stats for Susan's for the month of January indicate that it has been a huge month.

People keep returning, because this is a safe haven for them.  I know that I go in "streaks" with leaving messages.  I might post for a couple of weeks then just stop for a while.  It all depends on what is happening in my life at the time and my mood.  I have been coming here for years and have been through several diffenent layouts of the system.

Yes I have to admit I wondered about those I read of in past months and hear nothing more from them.

Then I stopped to think about how that river in life relationships goes. Smooth and calm and churning and rapids and waterfalls and ebbs, rippels and pools of calm.

That's the spilling everything out, the taking it all in, the pondering on and the accepting and rejecting process. It all takes time. Some longer than others.

Some come and go because they learned what they were looking for. Then others get hooked on learning more so they stick around. Then there is those that get attached and you can't shake them of with the mightiest winds nor would you want to, for it is they that those that only had need to pass through and stop briefly come back to have an encounter with again when the need arrises.

Yes, Alexander I am eagerly watching for your posts.

Smiles,
Peggiann
