I'm a woman in a new relationship with a transgender woman, and we recently became intimate. Part of this includes me sucking on her nipples. When I did this, I noticed a salty fluid coming from them - not a lot, but quite clearly lactation of some sort. She has only been on her testosterone blockers and estrogen for about a month, and has only a very slight change in her breasts so far. What could this fluid be? Thank you for your time.

Could be lactation. I kind of doubt breasts would develop to the point where they can lactate in only a month though

I mean it is lactation only in the sense that there is fluid coming from her nipples - not that it's milk or anything of the sort. It tastes salty. Trying to figure out what it could be, if it's normal, or if we should be concerned.

I had this when I started hrt. Freaked me out a little but it went away. Of course I didn't have anyone servicing them. Ive heard that continued stimulation can result in production of milk. Don't know of its true though.

It's just colostrum, no biggie.  I leak a little during nipple stim.  With enough stimulation or the right hormone flux it can turn into full lactation.  I started to let down milk when my son was born.

My doc tells me that taking estrogen will put me at a higher risk of prolactinoma ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prolactinoma ).    Your partner might want to mention this when she sees her doctor next, but it isn't something to get worked up about.

Biological men can lactate! You don't have to be female to lactate, you don't need to be on hrt to lactate. Like I developed breast at the age of 12.

You need progesterone and estradiol to develop milk ducts and such. If you had "gynecomastia" (like me) it's possible though. But not 1 month of trans HRT. Too short of a time.

But yes I do know trans women can. But not in a month.

Any body can lactate search on google for lactating men all men have breast tissue to some extent. I actually have klinefelters syndrome.

No reason to panic, but do talk to a doctor about it. It can be a sign of a problem. Or it can be fine.

My endo asks specifically about nipple discharge at each visit. For the most part otherwise, she just asks "what's up, anything new?" so it seems she takes this fairly seriously. But it is also very common, apparently.
