From what I've seen of work on friends and others, he may already be better than O ever was(which says something)
I had a consultation with him at the insistence of a friend, and first off he's absolutely gorgeous.

He and his staff are also super welcoming and really great all around. It was also a really thorough and unrushed consultation that starts with getting xrays next door ans includes he and his assistant measuring about every conceivable aspect of your face.
If I have anything like a complaint, it's that he may be a little too focused on raw numbers instead how features necessarily work holistically with the rest of the face and body. An example was he initially claimed he thought I may need my adams apple reduced, which surprised me as mine is a tiny nub and placed such that it is invisible. Yes, technically it may be slightly above the normal female measurements, but just barely and being invisible it isn't an issue. He was leaning towards thinking it needed to be done and his lovely assistant Catherine was thinking it was borderline, contrasted with Mayer's 5 second look and laughingly saying there was nothing worth him doing there. It ended up not making his recommendations however.
But overall, I was really impressed. Just be aware he is really expensive and is going to pretty much want to rebuild your entire face if you're not one of the lottery winners with a mostly female face to begin with.
On one of my friends he recently gave her a lip lift and fixed some of O's mistakes on her jaw, and it all looks really good. Only real criticism I may have is his stitch work is good but not in the same class as Dr Mayer, as my lip lift incision is completely invisible now at day 12 while my friends was still very visible and healing for several weeks. That may be related to patient differences however, so do take that with a small grain of salt.
In the end I still went with Mayer, as I was mostly happy with my face and wanted more subtle refinement. I think Mayer may be a better choice for those of us needing/wanting more moderate work, and Deschamps more for folks needing a rebuild. They're both excellent doctors, but with radically different skill sets and aesthetics.
