So I find myself in Naples, and I know almost no one here, and I really would like a support group, or maybe a TS friend. I'm 13 years post-op, low profile, and have not been able to find anything in the way of a support group here. I've heard of one in Ft. Lauderdale, but it's way too far for me.

I use to live in the Ft. Myers area.  The closest support group I know of on the west coast is in St. Pete, 2-1/2 hours from naples.  Sorry  not much help there, just FYI

That isn't her age, Nikki; it's how many years she has been potop.

Naples is a city in Collier County, Florida, United States. As of July 1, 2007, the U.S. Census Bureau estimated the city's population at 21,653. Naples is a principal city of the Naples–Marco Island Metropolitan Statistical Area, which had an estimated total population of 315,839 on July 1, 2007. Although Naples is officially the county seat of Collier County, the courthouse is located east of the city in unincorporated East Naples.Naples was founded during the late 1880s by former Confederate general and Kentucky U.S. Senator John Stuart Williams and his partner, Louisville businessman Walter N. Haldeman, the publisher of the Louisville Courier-Journal. Throughout the 1870s and '80's, magazine and newspaper stories telling of the area's mild climate and abundant fish and game likened it to the sunny Italian peninsula. The name Naples caught on when promoters described the bay as "surpassing the bay in Naples, Italy".

Um... yea? That's us.
Boring, Conservative, and very little to do other than retire.
That population is considerably larger today though, I'm guessing close to double) and the city it's self is actually quite small. In general 80% of the county is considered "Naples".
I actually live half an hour away from the city lines, but I'm still considered to be in Naples.

I live in Naples and am interested in a support group. We could meet at Bambusa that first few times.

Interested in communicating first by email with other post ops. Not sure how to do this yet, internet challenged i guess. I will check this for a few days.

I just googled support groups for southwest florida. I found one located in Sarasota which is about a hour and a half North of Naples.

Here is their website. (Mods please edit if this goes against the rules of Susan's)

Southwest Florida Transgender Support Group.

I hope this helps

I will be post-op 11 years this year and live very low key. If you want to email or chat sometime then let me know and I can be online. I am still up in the frozen north (northeast specifically). I can also be found on play station network too (if you're into video gaming).
