And,  congratulations. I had my first session last weekend.  Came out to the technician.  It was pretty awesome.

The pain doesn't scare me that much, honestly. It might sound a little strange, but I've always gotten a small amount of pleasure out of certain kinds of pain. Specifically, stinging and burning pains. Like, I've never minded light sunburns and I used to use rubber bands on my wrist as a release. I've heard laser feels a bit like that, so I'm not going to stress over it.

Now, electrolysis is a different story... but that's future Tamika's problem.

And neither does open heart surgery....

The first time I went I had no numbing cream on, 2nd time I did. Good thing is it's over in about 10-15 mins. I was actually OK for the most part other than my moustache area.

I don't know what cream the Doc put on my but it wasn't emla. It really numbed everything in about 10 mins or so. Moustache still hurt but it was bearable.

It sure does without numbing cream.. I sat through 7 sessions without being told I could use a numbing cream.
Now, I have a high pain tolerance, yet this was some of the most intense pain I ever felt. At least it got better as the hair started to be less dense.

Well, people call numbing cream while getting a tattoo cheating. I definitely didn't cheat with laser 

how does the pain compare with getting a tattoo? I have several, and hated the pain from them.

Tattoo pain varies depending on where you're getting it done. I've got a sizable back piece on which some areas felt like being cut with a scalpel, some felt like burning, some literally felt like nothing at all, and some areas felt almost sexually pleasurable, lol.

Compared to all of that, the laser literally felt like nothing at all. Maybe a couple of milliseconds of sharp needle poking sensations here and there, but that was it.

I had laser done about 5 years ago too though on my groin area, and back then it was much more painful, so it probably depends on what type of laser they're using on you.

I have several on both calves and one on my hip, so I'm familiar with tattoo pain. I always thought it felt like a belt sander on my skin (yes, unfortunately, I have a frame of reference), so does laser kind of feel like that?

It feels more like pins and needles or ant bites, without the lingering agony.  But again it depends on what type of laser you're using probably.  My old laser treatment years ago felt like that, but I literally felt nothing at my last treatment 4 weeks ago (new tech, different laser).

For the record I was treated with Alexandrite laser 

Consult went well. The tech is a little worried about my contrast, so I'm gonna have to do a test pulse when I meet their supervising doctor. Cost of the full face, first treatment, is 700. Future sessions would cost less. Is that reasonable?

What kinda laser is it? Big diff in results...
Price is super cheap, so it's a good deal depending how many follow ups you need...that's why if it's a shoddy laser it'll take way more zapping and cost more overall.

It's alexandrite. Termed GentleEase by the website.

I wouldn't know about prices in the US.
I paid around 112$ per full face session in Spain for alexandrite laser.
My guess is, that I will have to pay double the price per session in Denmark when I get around to it.

I paid 45 dollars a session for Alexandrite laser here in Romania . I guess it is nice to finish many treatments here as they are so much cheaper than in the Western Europe .

Alexandrite is good...you should have good results! Make sure u wear sunscreen all the time between appts cuz you can burn easy after treatment.

Again, not sure what type of laser they're using where I go, I will ask in a few weeks when I go back, but I'm paying $1100 total for 12 sessions on my ENTIRE BODY.  Face to Toes and everything in between.  Armpits, chest, legs, arms, crotch, etc....
