Hello,
I am 16 months post op top surgery. I had some pretty substantial swelling and fluid retention on the left side. Unfortunately, my areolar tissue died. Fortunately, the nipple itself survived.
On the right side both the areola and nipple remained intact.
I'd like to try to have some tattooing done to try to tattoo on an areola so that it looks more symmetrical with the right side.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Any advice on how to find someone in my area with experience with this sort of thing (tattoo artist wise)?

I have no experience with medical tattoos, but plenty with tattooing in general. If you live in a major city, or near to one, you shouldn't have a problem locating a talented tattoo artist. Just google tattoo shops and read the reviews, check out the artist's portfolios. Find a couple that you like and visit their shops to check them out, they'll probably have a larger portfolio for you to view in shop as well. Make sure to communicate very clearly what you want to the artist. I think as long as you find someone who is both a talented artist and skilled tattoo artist (yes, sometimes they are not both), they should easily be able to create what you want.

Thank you for the responses!

I do have other tattoos as well, but all before I began transition and didn't want to go back to the same place with this particular request.

I am in the northern Midwest, but Toronto might still be a bit of a stretch for "just" a tattoo.

I'll ask around locally for good places to go in general and then go from there. Thanks again!
