You know, before reading this thread, I never really noticed the change, but going back and reflecting has to totally made me realize this.

I never really sweat a lot to begin with, I've always gotten like maybe a glow? I'd have to try super hard to sweat actual drops of water. But that said, I did used to smell pretty bad after gym and stuff and now it really doesn't have much of a scent compared to before, really. HRT does a lot of cool stuff like that :)

Hell yeah!  It used to be if I was out in the Texas sun my shirt would smell kind of like a cross between a skunk and piss.  Now it doesn't.  Not only that but my sweat...well...tastes different and I don't sweat nearly as much.  It's really really nice.

Its funny but those same old smells I used to have remain a bit of a turn on for me when they come from another person.  Like other parts of me they are fine on a man but not attached to me.
Open, out and evolving queer trans person forever with HRT support since March 13, 2013

Squee!!!  So I've had some pretty bad dysphoria and depression over the last week.  Partially alleviated thanks to some hardcore girl time on Saturday, but!  On Sunday it came back again and I cried.  I didn't want to get up and go to work as a boy again today.  So, I took another step today and wore a girl's polo shirt, but that's not why I'm posting in this thread (even though not a single scrap of clothing I'm wearing today (except my socks) is male, yay!).

I'm posting in this thread because I've learned that smell does a lot to alleviate my dysphoria apparently!  I found some nice hand lotion that helps, and this morning I just laid under the covers and pulled the blanket over my head for about 10 mintues and breathed in the awesome new smell of ME!  I <3 my new smell, so relaxing and affirming.

I'd noticed that my smell had changed but strangely I think my pets did too. For a few months they'd treated me like a stranger. My piggies wouldn't lay on my lap like they had previously and my duck who would not leave my side and follow me everywhere I go, avoided me like he did to everyone else. They're used to me now. When I had to go off my hormones for surgery, the smell was one of the first things to disappear. That was one of the worst parts of my surgeries and made me really depressed.

OK here goes, TMI.
So I don't stink, period.  I don't even put deodorant on any more and could go without for days!  I noticed the development right after starting on HRT.  My CIS friends say they stink often and are just as baffled as me.  So whats the cause of this very pleasant benefit?  I will add my vaginal area needs inconsistent attention to control odor.  Some day's you just have that not so fresh feeling.  TMI for sure!

Thank you,
Anne

Like you, Anne, I still use deodorant but really have no need to. I'm thinking about switching to an antiperspirant instead, though. My job really overheats me! On an associated note, my sense of smell seems almost superhuman now. I swear I could smell cat food at work through the cans! (No, none were open.)
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.
