Hello,

I'm 24, and strongly considering transition (MtF). To give a bit of context, I'm having gender questionings since young (around 6/7 years old), that stopped at times but always came back (10, 12, 15... years old). For long I have suppressed these feelings, and about 12 months ago, decided I had to come to terms with it. Think, and act accordingly.

I came out to my girlfriend and my few close friends (it went very well ), and started dressing up as a female, letting my hair grow. At the same time I gathered information about transitioning in my country (France), asking myself if I was ready to undergo transition.

After a year, I feel that I do not want to go back, and actually want to go forward ! Though, I have one last doubt in mind (which is where i would like your advice): I really would like to avoid FFS at (nearly) any cost, though I feel I would live it very badly if I wasn't able to pass without questioning after HRT. I know HRT doesn't do magic though, and I'm afraid it won't be enough for me to pass without tremendous efforts. What do you think ? Here are two pictures of me :

Also, do you think I am too young (or too old) to start a transition?

Well I can't say I know from experiance but every case I've seen people have definitely had facial structure change. You already have a great baseline for the hormones to work with! I think you should let them work their magic, and the facial part isn't overnight [emoji14] but it will happen!

There is never too old to transition. Many of us are in our 40s or later.

I looked at the pictures you posted, and you should be fine! It is normal to worry about "how you will turn out". The only way to know is to do it.

A profile shot in addition to what you've already provided would tell us a lot more, but, from what I see so far, you've got a good baseline to start with

I actually really love your first pictures, the skirt and shoes are just lovely, it actually triggered some dysphoria for me earlier when I first saw them. Don't worry about me I think you have a lot of potential.

Let me start by saying, how you look shouldn't discourage you, no matter what anyone tells you. Women come in all shapes, and sizes. I'm also 24, and just begining my transition. I Don't think there's a such thing as "too early", or "too late". Some people transition even younger than you, and I. Vise versa, some people transition older than you, or I. Ultimately you have to decide when the time is right for you, and if transitioning is right for you. Rarely is it easy, and there're always people who are going to judge you, but that's true of life no matter what. You just have to figure out what makes you happy, and go with it.
