Congrats! I'm envious.

I know a bunch of guys who've had top surgery in the past year or so, and they're all very happy with the results.

thanks everyone! nerves are pretty bad right now, but considering how anxious i typically am, this isn't out of the norm. it's surreal to think my day is tomorrow..... i'll be free

My top surgery was my first major surgery (don't really count wisdom teeth) I was so nervous the night before too and then the wait to go into the Operating Room but, my doctor gave me prescription for xanax before the surgery and that helped. Trust me, you will be done in about ten seconds. Before you know it you will be waking up in recovery. It's like time barely passed.. it's a pretty weird feeling lol. When you wake up you'll feel a bit shakey and cold from the anesthesia. The drugs they give you definitely help and you'll just be groggy and probably a little sore but no pain.

It's nice to be able to lay in bed without a shirt and look in the mirror and see a more masculine chest. Just take very good care of your scars when you can. They can be a little worrisome to see but just know it will fade in time.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.

thank you so much to everyone

surgery went really well!! pain is only a constant 3 (dull ache) and it was 4-4.5 when I pushed myself too much. will write more later!

I slept for a few hours when I got to the hotel and then had to take one pain pill (mom is making me stay on a schedule lol) so I'm about to crash.

day 2 pain is a bit worse.

i have this spot on the center of my chest, radiating to my right collarbone where the numbness wore off and it feels like a pulled muscle. i called the nurse just to make sure i was able to leave (i live 4 hoursa way) and she said it was completely normal. as long as you keep up with meds, everything will be as pain free as possible. even with the short 'shooting pains' i'd still only give it a 5 at its worst, and a constant 2-3 dull ache. top surgery is a lot easier than i thought it would be..... i cannot praise medalie's team enough. everyone was extremely friendly and truly did treat me as if i were their own.

Are you wearing a binder? If you can adjust the shoulder straps at all, try that. I had a lot of stabby pains and the only thing that seemed to help was changing the position the binder sat in a few times a day.

that i am! i loosened up the shoulders, before reading this, and it helped a lot. i think the metal clasps were pressed against me too firmly and i used my upper body too much to stand up.

also had to adjust pain meds to every 6 hours, rather than every 4. i'm extremely lightweight and couldn't stay up long enough to eat or drink anything.

Make sure you get some laxatives in you. The meds will back you up ;) Rest easy and no lifting or pulling. The binder is probably the most annoying part because it can cut into you under your arm pit and cause a lot of discomfort. My doctor told me to try and keep myself clean too. I had those bathing cloths without alcohol and it helped me feel like a human.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.

yeah, i've been taking dulcalax! it's nowhere near regular at the moment lol
i wish i would've paid attention to that before, but unfortunately i did not. i tore my stitches a few times on my right side and things got a little bloody..... but it also leaked as well haha. i've been getting sponge baths but i'm really ready for today. i see my new chest in a few hours and i can't wait to shower tonight. i'm ready to get all of this off of me  ;D

Yeah I was backed up for about 2 days and I was like nope time for laxatives. Can't wait to see your results!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.
