On the forums?

If not, I'd be careful where you put your number if you're publicly trans. You never know who'll come across it

Not on the forums, and I am pretty careful about giving out my phone. I want to make sure other members of the community are not being targeted or something.

Its not where you put your number, its where you go on the internet.
Trogans, Backdoors.

Not saying this is the case, but you can pick up malwear, and trogans, from almost anywear on the internet, and If you go to a place and get one of these things, putting info on a safe place can still be gathered by a third party, via the trogans and malwear and the like.

Could also be a trusted person is playing a prank after getting a new phone :P

Do the texts reffer to you by name?

I wasn't named or anything, but looks like it came from spammers. The message read: "Y0u may have had breakfast for dinner but y0u sh0u1d have me f0r breakfast." I hope opening the message or responding "who is this" in a moment of not thinking was not a serious mistake.

thanks, just making sure no one here is being targeted. its easy to get a a little paranoid about these type of things when you're trans and there are lots of trolls out there.

Just don't think this way.
There are a lot of sassy messages sent to a lot of people. Its simply a medium where messages are sent easily.
Just make sure the number is blacklisted and keep on living :) .

There are also decent people out there. I'd say its the majority.
Being a bit guarded but remembering to breathe freely might be an idea.

The closest thing I am getting to dirty texts are the ones where they try to sell me Viagra.

Seriously, the "breakfast for dinner" thing is very specific.  If you have actually eaten breakfast items for dinner in the recent past, then the list of people who could have sent that text is a very short one -- and you are being stalked and need to take it very seriously.

If you have not, then the text is probably spam and nothing to worry about.

Have you had breakfast for dinner in the last few weeks? Is the number from your area code, or one close by? Even though the weird spelling does typically point to spam, it's an odd thing to say and it didn't include anything clickable. If either of the answers to the first questions are yes, I have to agree with Carly. You should do some digging in the interest of figuring it out.

Google the number and see what comes up. Try a few different formats (like xxx.xxx.xxxx, (xxx) xxx-xxxx, "(xxx) xxx-xxxx", etc.). Put it into Facebook and search for it, if it's tied to someone's account they will come up. You can block the number very easily if you have an iPhone. If you don't, you may need to contact your phone company directly to have them do it.

In the future, don't reply to anything like this. Best case scenario, it's a spam account and they now know that you have an active number that can receive text messages. Worst case scenario, someone is screwing with you and will now know that you received and read their message.

I don't text and my cell number is only available to about 6 people. Most of the calls I get are call forwarded through a land line which blocks text messages and I still get span on my cell phone. They use dialers that rotate through all possible cell numbers sending hundreds of messages an hour just hoping for somebody to respond back. They must be in pretty sad shape if thats what they need to do for a sexual contact.

Now one I got which cost me 20 cents because I am not on a text plan was
Hey! I'm looking to meet new ppl and i seen you on fb and though u were cute.. txt me back

Problem with this message is I am not on Face Book and that picture to the left current might not look bad, it is 30 years old and the only current picture I have looks really bad and is on my drivers license.

There's a free app you can download called truecaller. You can use it to block unwanted calls, I guess it may be able to block unwanted text messages too.
