Two different expensive razors, shower runs out of hot water, always, always, always some spot I missed, nicks, cuts, 6 hrs later & stubble - city.

I know how that goes.

I've been trying to use Veet's IPL hair removal but it's a slow long-term solution, after a year it hasn't done that much but some patches have very little regrowth. The downside is my body is still producing new androgenic hairs so it's like I'm racing against my own body changing more hair follicles to androgenic! I didn't even have any male-pattern hair-growth until my late 20's.  :( People use to ask me if I shaved my legs back when I didn't need to as well.

Has anyone else considered DHT blockers to reduce the need to shave and or to stop new hairs?

Allison have you ever considered waxing? It can be painful the first time but I think it beats the hassle of shaving.

I was put on Spiro not for its AA quality but to give me a female hair growth cycle - it worked wonderfully!

OTOH --

In high school, before it was kewl . . . (1960's), I raced bicycles and shaved the legs. So, lots and lots of practice. And the andro stuff is dropping off on acct. I'm an old fart, and that's the way it works. Barely any leg hair in the first place. Chest, abdomen . . . We got it smoothed up and under control. Thank gawd I don't have back hair!

Gillette Venus razor -- spendy but the blades last and last . . . is specifically designed for body parts. Makes the work fast and smooth. I rarely nick myself. Face needs a face razor.

I have a Remington "lady" electric that works in the shower. That's a nice feature!

I also use two different types of razor. On my face I shave when I first get up, let my face dry so the missed spots become scratchy again, and touch up before I go out the door. For my body, where it grows much slower, I carry a razor in my bag and touch up as necessary in a bathroom stall.

Worst for me is trying to sleep when the hairs on my legs start to grow back in and poke each other. I may well have to start wearing pyjamas.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

I use electric. Fine, until the thing breaks and I have to be stubbly for a few days.

I've taken to using two of them, one on alternate days, so there will always be one for me.

Although I'd be intimidated on using it on the body, I've found an old fashioned straight razor to be the best thing for my face. It took a bit of learning but now I can whip off my face to a fine, smooth finish.

The other bonuses are that blades for a shavette (a straight razor with replaceable blades) are very cheap, meaning you can use a fresh blade often and cheaply; and that there is something inherently satisfying about lathering up a brush and angling the razor just right to get those naughty little stubbly bits.
