Hi! This is my first time posting and I'm a bit nervous....but here's my story... For the longest time I've felt out of place... like I didn't really fit in.. but it wasn't until I went to my first Pride festival that the pieces started to fall together. I ended up having my first boyfriend and the only reason we broke up was because I was afraid of other people talking, so I caged that part of me away seemingly for good... but then I started crossdressing and it's like the 'real me' woke up. Now I have this part of me yearning to be free but my fear of what might happen is keeping it chained down. Even when I look in the mirror every now and then, I can kinda see "her" looking back begging to be let out...I'm scared but I hate keeping this inside

Welcome to Susan's Place. You really haven't ask the question so I am going to make a suggestion. If you would like to learn more about yourself, go to youtube and request "The transition channel". This is a series of videos that will ask you questions and your answers will give you a better understanding of yourself. I transitioned starting 35 years ago but when I viewed the videos I saw the same material being covered that I used to examine myself many years ago.
In the end, this is something that is self diagnosed and the better you understand yourself, the better shot you will have at a happy life. Feel free to ask any questions you might have as this website exist to help you.

Welcome to your life.  It's beautiful!

You are going to be fine.  It will take time; there'll be ups and downs.  You'll see clearly and then feel you are blind.  And so on and so on . . .

It's an amazing experience to explore who you be, and in that exploration you can find all that life has to offer that one might ask for.

Good luck, keep in touch, and reach out to the world . . .

Yours,

R
