Thought I'd give a brief overview for others who might be interested in FFS:
- Dr. Mayer is in BH (aka 90210), CA and widely known (mostly good and some not - it's plastic surgery)
- I'm 72 so I'm interested in aging 1st, FFS 2nd, voice 3rd, hair 4th
- Basic procedures recommended but some tailoring still to do (face/neck lift, brow lift with hair line lowering, lower eye lid and below eye area fat transfer, nose, mild upper lip lift, cheek implants, and hair flap
- Voice with little downside risk (I agree mostly on this, not final yet on this one) with 60-80% (my guess) chance of solid mid fem range
- Hair flap is really a big question mark for me but his results are terrific looking as far as I can tell. I'll ask for some past patients I can talk talk to as well
- Basically nothing radical in terms of approach or degree of change (want to look like my pretty 52 yr old sister! lol )
The cost isn't final yet as we have a digital photo review/planning session in 3 weeks, but as I expected we're in the low to upper 40Ks (I'll seek a discount). This includes a day and night at a nice recovery center - I may ask for 2 nights; I'm a big sissy and am roughing it when room service is late. It would be more like 25-30K w/Cardenas in Mexico, but I'm not sure I want to go to Mexico to have the surgery - heard great things about it and probably just my personal bias showing up.
All in all, the visit was really nice and all the pre-surgery work-up will all be free plus a free session with the esthetician at the next visit for a facial (ahhh) and general face care consultation for the 1st 6 mos post-op given the surgeries selected. This will be augmented post-op. The Dr. and staff and I seemed to enjoy each other, which made for a pleasant visit - visit took about 65 minutes with very little wait time. If I am going to do this I'll likely have it done with Dr. Mayer.
He's the 3rd Dr. I've talked to about this including Caitlyn J's physicians. They were all good but Mayer seemed a little more sensitive to my priorities and had a more moderate approach.
More to follow and then I've got to decide. Money is an issue but I knew that going in though I'd be close to home . . . I fly enough as it is! Dr. Alter did my SRS here locally (great job) and I was so happy there was no travel.
That's it for now - feel free to jump in.
TTFN,
R
