I was debating if this should go in the beauty section but I figured it fit better here. Anyways, I'm a guy that loves fragrances and own a little over thirty bottles of cologne. To me colognes make me feel better in my passing ability.  So my question is, is does adding a fragrance make you feel like you pass better? Or give you a confidence boost? If so, what's your fragrance of choice? And do you have a cologne "obsession"/hobby? If I'm out of line posting this or posting in the wrong section I apologize beforehand, but I'm excited to hear answers! Thank you!

I agree with everyone else. Having girls tell me they like how my hoodie smells BECAUSE I wear cologne eliminates any dysphoria regarding smell. Cool water by davidoff is my go to

It doesn't last as long as those from stores but imo it smells really fresh and uplifting.

I wear Guilty by Gucci. It smells really damn good. I've heard 1 Million is also good but I never smelled it personally.
I use to wear Gautier and Aqua Di Gio (Pre-T) but got kind of tired of them. It's interesting how much more masculine you smell on T.

I don't wear any scented products because I'm allergic. My campus is scent free and most places here (gym, banks, airport, etc) have signs about allergies asking people not to wear cologne and perfume. I just assumed colognes were on their way out (and I was really happy about it). I live in Canada, is this not the case in other places? Will I just have to accept that I'll be crying the entire time.if I travel?

Well in many places its thought of as considerate to use perfume sparesly...

Yessssss with the scents! I have some coworkers who are not into scents, which is a huge drag--I love them.

Givenchy Play Intense is a new favorite.

For the first couple of years after my transition, I wore colgne when I when out. I don't do that anymore. At the time, it did make me feel more masculine and cool. I guess if I were dating someone I would still put some on, but I'm not.

I wouldn't say that cologne does anything for me passing wise, as I always pass nowadays. But I also do enjoy a good cologne. I save my favorites for occasions out of the ordinary, like going out to dinner, interviews, dates, etc.  definitely gives a slight confidence boost knowing I smell really good.
For days with nothing out of the ordinary I usually don't wear any or wear aftershave. (I personally like the classic barbershop smell of Clubman Pinaud)

My personal favorite colognes are:

From a tgirl's perspective, when I smell certain colognes on guys its more than just an intellectual response but more of a biological one. When the man walks past me or I past him and I take in the sensual smell of his cologne, the estrogen in my body sends butterflies through my stomach, my eyes light up, and it makes my mind go absolutely wild. I have experienced this sensation coming from both cis and trans men who wear the right cologne, and by right cologne I mean one that will work well with your natural smell. So from a tgirl yes it absolutely makes you more passable not to mention sexy as hell! 

I have always been obsessed with smells. Before I started transition and was still hiding my true self .. I would get bummed out because I really wanted to wear mens cologne but was scared I would be judged. So i just wouldnt wear any at all. I literally bought like 30 samples to find the one I liked the most. Legend by Monte Blanc was the clear winner for me. I wont ever go without it again.

The only thing I've ever consistently used is Fierce by A&F. Every girl I've ever dated *loves* it. Doesn't do anything for me either way.

CK Eternity and Cool Water by Davidoff used to be my rotation of scent until I received Legend by Mont Blanc.

I never used to place much store in smells until I noticed that everyone else around me REALLY noticed how other people smell and what colognes or perfumes they used. People commented on it quite a lot, if they like a smell they would ask a colleague what it was they were wearing... sometimes a huge conversation starter. They had other uses too... one of my female bosses used to wear a certain perfume and it would usually give us some kinda warning of whether she was in the area about to check up on us.

Unfortunately I rarely find a cologne I can use. I think that's because I have a sensitive nose or sensitivity to smells or something... certain smells tend to give me headaches and nausea so any kinds of scents I used were always fairly mild or minimal. If it smells citrussy I can handle it, but few colognes do, and most have a powerful scent that's irritating to my senses (if it's on other people it's cool, as it's diluted from there, but if I have to breathe it in constantly because it's on myself...no). So I tend to have to forgo using them in favor of nondescript/mild deodorants.

Our sense of smell and reaction to smells is one of the strongest senses we have. It triggers memories faster than any other sense. If I pass a woman with just a hint of perfume, my favorite is linen, it can actually make me dizzy for a moment. I don't know if men's cologne has a similar effect on women. On the other hand, too much cologne or perfume Is a real turn off. Its overpowering and makes me want to turn away.

I started wearing Obsession by Calvin Klein and this cologne in a bottle that looks like a grenade from Hot Topic (can't remember the name to save my life), and they both smell pretty darn masculine, it helps get rid of dysphoria when my fiancee tells me how much she loves it.

I know it's easy to make fun of, but I also love Apollo and Phoenix by AXE. 

I also really like very masculine scents because it's a huge difference as opposed to the sweet, candy-like perfumes I wear when presenting feminine.
