Wow Olive, you're so young... not even a hint of MPB. You have a good base to start.

I'm just going to throw this in here. This is in total guy mode, nothing special going on. Pre- transition and -HRT. I just thought I looked pretty alright and wanted to make sure it's not all in my beholding eye.

Even in boy mode pre-hrt you are gorgeous hun. After a few months on hrt you will look so fabulous. I think you will have some great results hope to see more post from you!

Any thoughts? Is my face too masculine, or would HRT help a lot?

Honestly I don't think your face is super masculine now. the shadow needs to be dealt with, and eyebrows could use some shaping, but with hrt your skin will get smoother and softer. And that will definitely help you face get more feminine.

Hi everyone, just wanted to ask what your opinions are of my face pre-HRT. Think I would pass? What do you think are my biggest problem areas? Thanks in advance! [23M]

@Bubble Trouble: A more feminine haircut, a splash of makeup, and smile... the stern look on your face doesn't work with feminine. It will immediately soften your face... then you might get some more constructive feedback.

Lose the sideburns, attend to the eyebrows, *hair*, a light foundation, get some color on those lips, and some feminine clothes would go a long way. The other is try to project some femininity.

Your pictures scream boy.

Thanks for your feedback! The stern look is because I tried to give as neutral an expression as I could -- I worry that anything other than neutral wouldn't reflect what my facial structure could be. If I were to maintain a neutral face say one year into HRT do you think the expression will remain similar?

Grooming and make-up aside, I'm just worried my facial structure simply isn't conducive to looking feminine. Do you have any thoughts on this?

I'd hope that you'd be happier as the estrogen does it's work. Bone structure is fine. The truth is, orientals generally get quite a bit of mileage out of the "mileage may vary" disclaimer.

Truthfully, with the correct application of makeup and the right outfits, many masculine features can be masked (women do it all the time). Even without the magic pills.

There's many many tricks to achieve the "feminine pass"... the cosmetics industry was built on it. What you can't buy is feminine mannerisms. Posture, composure, etc..

@bubbletrouble: shape your eyebrow and fill them in, I see some spots, filling them in is very important, also I think you should start growing your hair out as soon as possible, even if you don't plan being full time right away, there is plenty of guys with long hair, hair takes some time before growing... Also practice with make up, don't just wait last minute (right before going part-time or full-time), because it can be hard at first... Besides that I don't consider myself someone that can predict the future or miracles of hrt, I would say again to start as soon as possible with that too, because the sooner the better... Good luck!

Slow progress but progress nonetheless.  I'm feeling rather hopeless about my jaw and chin, thinking FFS may be unavoidable.  Anybody else experience much change in this area with HRT (I'm only about four months in)?

Your face will change some. But won't change bone structure. Have you tried a contouring palette? From what I understand they'd take you off E for FFS, so I'd try contouring as a stop gap, while I was waiting for the estrogen to do it's work.

Harley, everyone who posts pictures in thread are at all different stages of their transitions. Some want to know because they are concerned if they transition that they won't pass or a huge amount of work might be required so they show themselves as they are now. This thread is here to help people know if they pass or what it might take for them to do so. Hugs

Harley, no worries. The only way you know why something is occurring is if you ask. Hugs

A friend of me and my wife just let us loot her old M.A.C. (and assorted brands) treasure chest and we are both just learning how to properly use make-up.  My wife is nearly as clueless as I am about it.  So... I'll try the pallet soon, thanks for the suggestion.

Mods please delete this if it's wrong.
Few posts above I posted some photos.  I am mainly concerned about my facial bone structure. If somebody could comment on that,  great.
Put black boxes around your eyes and leave the blur alone... that'll give you anonymity but let people see your face clearly (specifically bone structure which is what you want us to see, yes?).

As of right now, I can't see poop.

Ditto. Tough to see through the haze... Black the eyes, it's what US Special Forces do for graduation pictures to maintain anonymity. Pretty effective.

I really like the Kate Von D pallette. It's nothing more than a series of highlights and shadows to give depth and effectively alters the appearance of your facial features. ie. Narrow the bridge of the nose, minimize jawline, and raise cheekbones. It's very effective. If you have a bunch of MAC, and I LOVE MAC, I would take some of your treasures to a MAC counter and ask for application help. They can even identify anything you might be missing to complete your look. Having a bunch of their stuff and getting just a couple things will generally get you a complimentary makeover lesson. It comes with the cost of their products. They also have a great exchange policy, if what you have isn't quite your color. They will trade to get you looking your best. ☺

I figured I'd better delete my previous posts in here since the photos were not good and post again (thanks for the previous comments btw)

So:

Haven't done anything yet though (other than loosing 10 pounds I had gained last winter), just different photos.
Please ignore body hair.

I'm mainly concerned about my facial structure and upper body.

General opinions? I'm wearing skinny ankle girl jeans I bought yesterday + some girl tee (hard to find one fitting and not cutting inside my armpits). The jeans are one size smaller than I normally wear cause they generally loosen - right now they are a bit tight around the waist but I can wear them for a few hours.

I'm not wearing any makeup or stuff like that, just freshly shaved.

Comments welcome (both general and also regarding my facial structure).

Thanks!

I would say that you have a decent base to start. Your shoulders aren't overly broad. Some of the bulk in your shoulders will fall away causing a more slender appearance. Which will help a lot since you have narrow hips. You will get more "accumulation" around the hips and butt, and with the slimming of your shoulders should make it a good fit.

Facial bone structure is fine. Although you could use a little more fleshing out. I know whenever you lose weight, it's always in your face first. So, I would imagine it'll come back quickly.  Which is thankfully one of the effects of E. It will help to fill in your cheeks. All in all not a bad base to work off. The biggest thing is your 5 o'clock shadow is heavy like mine. It'll be a lot of work toning that down early on. I use MAC studio fix concealer and foundation liquid and the powder to mask my facial hair. It's a little heavier than a lot of them.  Hope it helps.
