Since my wife's sudden U-turn about my crossdressing, I have been allowed/able to shave my legs.
I REALLY love the feel of freshly shaved legs and the way a skirt feels against them... Even jeans aginst freshly shaven legs is an amazing feeling...

Now I have a slight and annoying problem.... RASH!!!!

At first no problems, but now I get a rash every time I shave.
Will this stop with time?
Do I have to put up with it?
Can it be prevented?

I've used both men's facial shaving foam, and female shaving foam. The razor is a 4 bladed man's razor.

At first I thought it was I was getting too eager to get perfectly smooth. 3 or 4 passes to get that silky feel.
But now I wait for hair to be visable ( I hate this wait) and only shave the once, and nice and gently too.
The rash is better but it's still there and looks horrid.

Would using a hair removal cream be better? I hear that these too can cause all sorts of rashes etc.

I really do enjoy the feeling of freshly shaved legs, it would be a shame if I had to stop doing it.

Any advice, hints etc greatfully received.

Thanks
DJ

I believe what you are seeing is razor bumps and they come from shaving the top layer of skin off each
hair follicle. Then they scab over and you can get an ingrown hair.

I'll also recommend TendSkin http://www.amazon.com/Tend-Skin/dp/B0006IQK5U, it is wonderful.

You will need to wait some time for the rash to heal and the TendSkin will help. It is really magic.
I used TendSkin fairly liberally morning and night but it does dry your skin (and your hands).

I only had the red razor bumps on the upper thigh and bikini line but it took about a month to
start looking smooth again. I did not shave that area for a couple of weeks.

I was able to use Aveeno while I was healing and it helped http://www.aveeno.com/segmentAction.do?segid=1006&catid=1001

Also when you shave only make one pass and NOT against the grain in sensitive areas, and use very light pressure.

Exfoliate your skin before you shave http://www.beauty-advices.com/how-to-exfoliate-the-body/ it will
eliminate ingrown hairs.

I never shave in the shower anymore! I only shave after a few minutes in a hot bath now and I do not
need any of the products above and I no longer have any bumps just baby soft skin. I think after a while your
skin gets used to the razor and you can press harder and get a closer shave, but until then use a very light touch.

Recently someone had here recommend an epilator to use on chest hair(and legs, etc), I have not tried it yet, but I think the consensus was it hurt but left your skin smooth. http://www.folica.com/Emjoi_Gently_Go_d213.html

And you're right about the feeling.... I felt about ten times better about my body after getting rid
of that nasty chest hair.
