I'm actually thinking about finding out how I might attend a culinary school, I am often complimented on the food I make and people have told me that I should open my own restaurant

I've been practicing and learning over the past 10 years by trial and error with recipes I find online and feel that my dishes have been coming out on par for my target demographic, but I understand that I will need a certificate from an established and respected school of culinary arts to be taken seriously

Yes, I am in my mid 50's and deal with spinal and various other injuries, but I enjoy making good food and feel that the only time it is too late is when I lay down and close my eyes for good

I don't know how or if I can do it, but it is what I've been thinking about for quite awhile

Hugs

That's so awesome.  I recently rediscovered cooking myself.  (Wait, should there be a comma between "cooking" and "myself"?  That didn't come out quite right...)  I worked in a couple of kitchens in college, but I learned to hate doing the same thing over and over, especially in the summer heat, so I stopped cooking.  I suppose the good news is that I make sick pizzas from scratch now without thinking.

If my wife somehow gets disbarred or we ever run into a big enough pile of cash, we are so opening a restaurant.

Oh, and tonight I'm making Thai food.

I used to keep my thoughts to myself, mostly. HRT has really made me an opinionated b|π∆¿.

Oh, and eating wasabi peas then touching your slightly damp forehead has unintended consequences.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

Another: I don't care for the usage "trans*". I keep looking for the footnote.

My dog needs a bath, and why is she laying on pile of clothes?

I'm thinking about a situation I just posted about in "Arrg!", and yes, this is a blatant attempt to get you to look. Careful, as in most of that subforum, it could be triggering.

*gender

It's awkward for me too, kinda like when you hear a song that gets cut before the chord progression resolves.

So let me get this straight, haters- if you aren't 100% upfront to the world about being trans, you're being deceitful, but if you are, you're just "ramming your agenda down everyone's throats".

So what's a transwoman supposed to do here, haters?  Help me out on this one.

So as the effects of E mount to the point of male fail I now feel uncertain and afraid. Definitely not what I ever expected.
I love being me don't get me wrong but as the time gets closer I feel alone and scared.

I guess I am not alone with this feeling.

Jenny,

I do not mean this in anyway insulting to anyone.

You have a very high power job. As do I.

This can make transition extremely difficult - or in contrast, very easy.

I, for example, basically told everyone to deal with it or deal with me. I didn't realise until much later how confronting that was to my staff and employer.

They could not afford to lose me, so they had to accept me. My transition was not a problem for me - but for others. I knew what I had to do. It took me years to realise this.

There are others in the same position, Warlockmaker, for example, has facd her unique situation. She, and I, could have lost the lot. We have a lot to lose.

In a way, we don't transition, the work place does.

You Sis are in the same place. You are vital to your organisation. They cannot afford to lose you.

At some point of life you need to make the decision of what you want to do for your future. You have the same brain, albeit transformed into a female thinking and feeling one, but still the same skill and insight.

Your company knows that they need you. You are a highly valuable asset (hate that concept!) and they do not want you to take your skill to another company.

Jenny, you are in control. You may not have realised that because you may still be fighting your transition?

You make your move when you are comfy, but make it for you and don't be frightened.

BTW, I will add one other thing.

Since I came out and started to be political, I have found to that many of the leaders of commerce and politics are, can we say, gender fluid. You may be surprised how well you are accepted !

Is there a more dehumanizing phrase than "human resources"?

I'm thinking I'm hungry. Sometimes I feel like I could eat the whole kitchen if I had time enough to cook all of it and all the spices and sauces I wanted.
Am I male? Am I female? I'm just me.

There is definitely a reason some people refer to board games as bored games and let us not forget to name someone the Chairman of the Bored, oh well, boring is as boring does  ::)
