Alex Lee, director of the Transgender, Gender Variant and Intersex Justice Project, spoke at Friday's hearing to urge San Francisco Superior Court Judge Anne Bouliane not to sentence Adams to state prison because of the risk to her safety. Lee told the B.A.R.  that he has worked with Adams and has found a place for Adams in a residential alcohol abuse program when she is released.
