I'm 11 months post-op and do have feminine odor. Wondering if I can use any of the feminine washes made for natural vaginas. Confused since they have PH Balance things and stuff I don't know. Wipes, douching etc.

Any post-ops use these products? Any tips to keep it smelling good and fresh all the time?
Got my surgery in my early 20's, now in my mid 20's living stealth

Those products aren't even recommended for cis women, as they can damage the bacterial balance in the vagina and make it more likely to get infections, etc. Brassard definitely said that douching after 2 months wasn't recommended because of this. I know there's some debate over whether neovaginas develop the same vaginal flora, but I'd think that if they don't the douche won't help and if they do the douche might actually make things worse.

If you have a normal scent - a strong, unpleasant odor can be a sign of infection, yeast problems, or inadequate washing - that's actually a sign that your vagina *is* behaving normally and you don't want to disrupt it. They're supposed to have a "feminine odor," even if marketing companies say otherwise.

Regardless, if you can, you should probably consult your surgeon.
