Hi!

I'm 19 years old, and recently came out to my mother and have my first appointment today.
So it'll take around a year before i'll be able to start HRT.
Is it still worth getting blockers or is it too late, I don't really know till what age it is somewhat effective to do so.

EDIT: I didn't realize which section i posted this in sorry, replace it if wanted)

"Blockers" are taken by all ages until your gonads are removed, or they stop working due to old age or another medical condition. They are solely prescribed to people under 18 usually though to postpone puberty, but suppressing your natural hormones is necessary, so long as your body still makes them. So we are almost here all on a blocker and hormone replacement, at all ages.

I transitioned before blockers were available and I think my T production was never fully shut down. As the result my body didn't feminize as fast, my male bits misbehaved badly and I didn't get the mental gain that blocking T causes. If for some reason blockers aren't tolerated, you can transition without them and for some people HRT will block T production. This is a subject best discussed with your doctor because blood test are the only way of knowing the best chemical mix for your body.
