"Police are investigating the murder of a transgender woman overnight in Philadelphia.

Police say 22-year-old Kiesha Jenkins was dropped off on the 1300 block of Wingohocking Street around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday."

"Police are unsure at this point whether robbery was the motive."  *facepalm*

How dumb are these cops?

"Police are investigating the murder of a transgender woman overnight in Philadelphia.

Police say 22-year-old Kiesha Jenkins was dropped off on the 1300 block of Wingohocking Street around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday."

They don't want to call it a hate crime because it would imply they are sympathetic which they aren't.  The investigation will probably be dropped when the smoke clears.

One day they will meet the wrong transexual and pay with their lives. I may be transgender but I'm still as strong and mean like I've always been. I came across some jerks once they decided to leave this lady alone before a fight broke out, my wife was scared for me I told her not too be for I can still take care of myself. I believe if your transgender you need to take self defense classes.

Same city where the annual Trans Health Conference is held at.

A good friend of mine who is also a transwoman walks around with a concealed hand cannon at all times.  She's also a combat vet.  I couldn't imagine the terror she would rain down on anybody hateful and stupid enough to target her.

I have very mixed feelings about gun control but, if there is a demographic who should be encouraged to carry a concealed firearm, it's transwomen.

My blood absolutely boils when I think of that woman in Philly and her last moments.  It's sick.  Twisted.  Just freakin' wrong.  That kind of blind stupid hatred is one of the biggest problems we face as a species.  I hope this makes a few strong advocates in her community.

I always travel with the awareness of where its safe. Sometimes it happens no matter how careful  you are , a car breaks down on a highway, or some other chance occurrence unplanned for. I was in a a small town in New Mexico a while back and a car broke down with two of us in it and we had to hitch hike in the early morning hours and we found out what hell was like when we were attacked by a bunch of morons . Luckily we made it through, but it brought the awareness to me that carrying a gun is a good way to  stay safe. I don't carry a gun , but I constantly think about it.

This is only one reason not to get rid of our guns.
I am good with a gun.
Mess with me and i will set you free.
I will never give my guns up.
When only outlaws have guns thats when i will be one.

Just because we are transgender why should we act helpless? If more would remember their male side and take from those experiences that made you a survivor and apply it too your new life then those morons would stop harassing us.I'm a survivor,I had too be strong,morons tend too leave me be for I have that aura around me that says messing with that bearded lady is bad news..lol

Such prejudice, hearing news about this makes me even more so paranoid. May Kiesha rest in peace and my condolences to her friends and family. This is truly tragic to our community and I hope that brutal acts like these will fall as more become open minded and accepting.

So our "female side" is weak? Is that your assertion? Male side? What is that? I don't have a "male side" of which I am aware. I'm a woman and completely able to defend myself.

Never said that,I was implying through a lot of what I read once you transition your weak and helpless,I know this isn't true because I am a woman who has played male for all her life and am a tough old bird,for I was raised til I was 16 by a dad who knew his son was different then the other boys and knew I had too get tough to survive in a cruel world where being different can get you killed.I know I'm new here and y'all don't know me too well but I'm not new at being a non op transsexual and being aware of surroundings.My heart breaks every time I read about transgender people being hurt or killed.

You're mistaking caution for weakness. I don't think I can ever recall anyone saying you're weak once you transition.

The focus needs to be on the life lost.
