Obama 'not prepared' to endorse LGBT equality law yet

"President Obama will not step in to throw his weight behind an LGBT equality bill that is being championed by the Democrats.

Amid building momentum following the Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage, over 100 Democrats have co-sponsored a new bill known as the Equality Act – which would outlaw discrimination and ensure a range of protections for LGBT people."

Well -I- certainly won't be voting for him in the upcoming elections now. Thanks, Obama.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

That's surprising, i thought that 'cause he's at the end of his run he would be more likely to take risks.

This doesn't surprise me honestly and really, I can't help but believe that he was never really supportive to begin with. Look at his actions thus far, announces this, does this, but doesn't go the distance on them. Sure he helped in some ways, but he's never backed in real true weight onto them besides the one for thus serving the Gov. and even then that isn't fully covered.

Obama (and Hillary) only jumped on board the train when Biden opened his mouth and blurted out that he supported same sex marriage. Otherwise he was on the "one man, one woman" bandwagon.

I never had any illusion their shift was for anything more than political expediency, and you're correct that they were both pretty firmly against gay marriage in 2008. I'm totally not surprised that he's being lukewarm over this now.
