Well, kind folks....I want to make an announcement. I just graduated from LPN school! At the age of 56....and on the honor roll! Sorry to sound like I am bragging, but we hear all the time (especially around here) about girls being on skid row after they transition. I am doing just about as well as ever, just don't own a Hog right now...I would really like to get on that website for "successful trans people". Is anybody here on that list, or know somebody who is?

That requires a lot of dedication and hard work.  Not to mention being transgendered.  Thats quite a bit to deal with.  Actually, I'm thinking about going to nursing school next year after SRS and moving to Portland.  I love working with people and the pay and benefits would be awesome.  Not to mention being able to "write ones own ticket" so to speak.  You can seriously get a job anywhere.

Congratulations, Nickie!  I'm 56 myself and very happy for you.  The only thing in our way is how we see ourselves or the rest of the world around us. 

Keep on keepin' on and a Hog is in your future!

I couldn't afford nursing school. I took a medical assistant course instead. Does that count? It's definately a change from avionics.
