"Opponents of Houston's LGBT-inclusive Equal Rights Ordinance warn that non-discrimination protections threaten women's safety in public restrooms. But experts -- including law enforcement officials, government employees, and advocates for sexual assault victims -- from three Texas cities with similar non-discrimination ordinances debunk the "bathroom predator" myth, citing empirical evidence and experience working with sexual assault victims. "

One more of their myths go down in flames.  Don't worry though.  They'll soon dream up another reason to object.

Don't confuse them with facts when their minds are made up.

HERO is a big deal.  It is scary to think Houston might fail to pass prop 1.  I know myself and others in the trans and LGB community are working to educate.  I don't even want to think what happens if it fails. 

Yes, that proposition is purely nothing but another attempt to legislate bigotry. This sort of thing is why we have to constantly pay attention to politics, no matter how distasteful it is.
