Good morning everyone ;D

Just looking for some advice and tips for my first endo appointment since its less then three weeks away. I would like to say that I've prepared myself pretty well for the first visit. I don't smoke, I've cut out soft drinks pretty much apart from like one a month or so. And generally have eaten a lot healthier then before. And it must have worked since back in June this year I weighed 196lbs and have brought my weight down 168 where its hovering pretty much. And going my weight calculators its putting me underweight for a male but just fine for a female. It must be why I am hungry all the time.

Anyway I already know the first thing the endo will do is to draw blood to check levels. Which I'm curious to see as at the moment I'm showing at least signs of having low testosterone. Which of course I take with a grain of salt but still its interesting. Now here is the thing I've pretty much have been sticking with a vegetarian diet for over three months now. And one of the main things I do use is tofu which I know is high in phytoestrogen along with some other food that I eat often. Now would it be a good idea to cut this out before the appointment? As I don't want to mess up the blood test and have a low T and showing high E and getting the wrong dose of hormones.

Also is there a preferred way to take estrogen? I know that patches are the best and safest way. But going by research since I'm still under thirty I'll be twenty seven in a couple of weeks the pill form should be fine. And  the best way to take it is under the tongue and split it throughout the day to avoid mood swings.

Other then that is there anything else I should really ask her? I already know all positive effects of HRT along with what some could consider negatives such as low sex drive which doesn't bother me.

I don't see myself really having any trouble at the appointment. As I've already have proven that I'm serious about my transition since I'm already full time and have changed my name.

Also one other thing would it be faux pas to ask her to sign the social security document saying that I can be changed to female in the social security database or should I wait a couple visits?

Thank you,
Raven

Injections go straight to your blood and bypass the liver so they are generally better. That said I am on pills and they work. I'm 37 years young.

They should start you off on low dose to see how your body tolerates it. They may take Baseline labs to see what your levels are now and they may/may not wait for those to put in a prescription for you.

The phytoestrogens may not be good because they compete with E for E receptors. That said your dose is not set in stone. They measure your levels as you go along and adjust accordingly. You won't get the "wrong" dose or anything. You are being continuously monitored.

I had low T going in, extremely low in fact. It explained my infertility issues that have plagued me throughout life pretty much.

You can ask for the letter but they may hesitate since you have not really had clinical treatment. You may get lucky and get a letter. You may also be given a letter which you can get a 2 year passport with but this won't work for social security. It is entirely up to them to issue the letter. The letter also says how long you have had a dr/patient relationship among other things. But you never know! Ask for it and see.

Good luck!

I went as Shannon and treated as such.  Be yourself and whoever you want to be. Hugs

I had stupidly high T going in to the point my endo was concerned haha.

I learnt about 3 months in spiro was useless for me and I needed acetate. So yea early months mean little as its really about finding what you need. It should be noted pills are by far the cheapest solution in most cases especially if spiro and finestride work for you.

Personally I have never had pro-e and I have been on hrt for 5 years. So dont worry if your endo doesn't think youll ever need it then you won't because I got great development without it.

On the note of the gender certificate you wont be given that until you well into HRT as your endo will check monthly if you have any regrets and once they are certain your choice is not regretted then they will be willing.

Worst side effect I have is dry skin.
Awww no my little kitten gif site is gone :( sad.
