Honestly?  Your jawline is a flag to me..  But you are asking a bunch of people who could find the masculine in any women.  Just keep doing what you're doing and keep building your style and skills and you'll be just fine!

Overall you look great. I wonder if the clothing or something is what is resulting in the clocking for you. I wouldn't think you would have issues though because you do look great. Hugs

thanks yall ! to clarify, ppl dont generally gender me incorrectly (they always call me she), but sometimes i come out to ppl and they say they "could tell". and recently i was walking to the bus having just gotten out of the shower w wet hair and no makeup and someone asked me if i "converted" (aka asked if i was trans).

i think this is mostly because of my biggerish shoulders and height (im 5'10"). but i still feel like im pretty !

Could be other things... voice, mannerisms etc.

I don't get clocked and I don't look as femme as some of you.

ive been over this with ppl and its not my voice, pretty sure its my height, my shoulders, my face (my selfies are probably a lot more flattering than real life) and my short hair. i like the way i look so im not too worried about it but i wouldnt mind passing better. i mean there are a lot of people who "had no idea i was trans", i think its mostly bc i live in a college town in california with lots of queer and trans people in it so theres a lot more visibility here.

btw when im saying im getting clocked, i mean that people dont consider me cis, not that they call me a man. nobody really does that

also yeah i dont wear dresses or skirts or anything, my outfits are mostly tshirts with the sleeves and necks cut off and tank tops, i dress kind of androgynous femme. i dont really feel comfortable in hyper feminine clothing

Exactly, most people are respectful enough to address a trans person as their chosen gender even if they can tell we are trans, so unless we encounter an ignorant rude person it can be hard to know for sure if we legitimately pass, because people who clock us use discretion when they are checking us out. Anyway, you look great gaygirl just keep being you. :)

You look great. I'm a photographer it's not your selfies ...YOU look great...

Kate makes a good point, passing is much more than appearance like many have said,  people pick up on body language, speech patterns.  It sounds a little trite but if you are comfortable you make those around you comfortable.  A TG or person with relationships with TG's can spot/clock you much easier but most will respect your presented gender.  I went to the MAC to get some lessons on makeup and this completely tatted cis girl clocked me.  She had several TG customers that come in and was used to reading the subtle clues.

My cis x-wife used to get mis-gendered since she was 6'1" and wore masculine clothes and had a low alto voice.  It wasn't often but I guess it just shows how bad people are at reading visual indicators.

I lived near were you are talking about and folks their saw enough to develop an ability to pick up on different LGBT markers in their daily dealings with people.  Maybe going to an area with a less aware population, and see if the same happens or it's just were you are.

Hugs  :)

I often think people would rather make a mistake calling someone trans who isn't than somehow 'miss' someone who is. I think that's part of why you hear so many stories of people coming out to co-workers and having them say that they knew. I'm not sure why that is. Ego? Fear? I really don't know.

Great cheekbones by the way. I love them!  I've none.
